September 2023

Information icon Hello, I'm Nagol0929. I noticed that you recently removed content from List of songs recorded by Damien Rice without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 18:24, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

List of unreleased songs recorded by Michael Jackson

You don't know what you are doing. MOST OF THE SONGS ON THE PAGE THAT I UPDATED ARE NOT REAL SONGS AND IS MISINFORMATION. THE TRACKER ONLY HAS SONGS CONFIRMED TO EXIST. So stop reverting it because I am updating a wikipedia page that has tons of misinformation Threepeater11 (talk) 18:59, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Why don't you remove the fake songs from the list then? I'm sorry if I was acting harshly towards you, but you literally pruned the page of the layout and existing references that were there, instead replacing the whole table with content copied from the tracker, with no other references whatsoever. I'm not saying the tracker is not accurate, I believe it is, but it's just not enough in terms of sources. 8086-PC (talk) 20:24, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
And I apologize if I was acting unreasonable as well, I can get hot headed so I apologize. What if I were to edit the page with the existing format with using some if not most songs from the tracker? Threepeater11 (talk) 05:22, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
I guess it would be better to create your own sandbox or a dedicated user subpage to create and further develop the table, so you could replace the original table with it when you're done. 8086-PC (talk) 13:01, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to join New pages patrol

Hello 8086-PC!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Removal of scope="col"

Hi 8086-PC. Regarding your removal of scope="col" from several discographies and documentation of templates, please see MOS:DTT, which is part of WP:ACCESS. It is a required part of a table as "This clearly identifies headers as either column headers or row headers respectively", which aids users of screen readers. Please stop removing it from discographies going ahead, and if you are aware of anywhere else you have removed it, please restore it. Thanks. Ss112

Thanks for pointing out. I'll restore it on all pages. 8086-PC (talk) 06:24, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
I don't mean to be rude, but I don't know why you're repeatedly editing the Mamas & the Papas discography after me. Fair enough, I looked through your contributions the other day so you did it to me once and that's how you came across it. However, my justification is that you were actively removing elements of tables that should be there and I looked through where you removed it from to restore it after I informed you of it. I'm not doing anything like that that needs to be monitored. Also, not every discography needs the exact same column width. I can tell from your edits you like making spacing and things consistent, but Wikipedia articles are all edited by different people and it's a fool's errand to try to achieve "consistency" in this regard. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, MOS:RETAIN, what have you. If your only contribution to discographies is adjusting column width, this seems very cosmetic and other editors will probably tell you these are the sort of edits that should not be made unless as part of a more substantial edit, and that you should look for more substantial things to do. I can't tell you what to do, I'm just saying you're going to run into opposition. Ss112 16:24, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
I'm sorry if it felt like a monitoring. I certainly don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable with my edits, but sometimes when I see someone editing music-related pages etc. I always check them if there's something for me to edit. I want to thank you for reminding me about the "scope="col"" identifiers as I had no idea which was their meaning (I assumed that "!" which itself serves as a column header is enough), and for restoring them on many of the articles I modified. Re: consistency, I understand what your point is. I'll try to include all modifications in a single, substantial edit next time and avoid useless editing.
Again, I'm sorry if my edits made you feel uncomfortable, but I can assure you that none of them were directed at you personally. 8086-PC (talk) 17:07, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
  • Hello. I've just noticed that you have removed the sortable function from chart tables on several Marcus & Martinus song articles that were on my watchlist. While not an accessibility feature per se, this feature should generally be kept in tables with any more than one entry, even if one can't see the benefit of sorting/rearranging two entries. You'll find some editors even argue to keep sortability in tables with even one entry (even if I don't agree with that and there's obviously no point). Ss112 04:11, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for notifying. I found many song articles using the sortable option only for chart tables with three and more entries, as well as many page history revision entries where multiple editors removed the feature, so I assumed that the use of the sortable option in tables with less entries is generally considered unnecessary. 8086-PC (talk) 12:11, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
