You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Genshin Impact; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. You have already breached WP:3RR which can be a blockable offence. Please take this to the article's talk page, as is normal per WP:BRD.Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 21:17, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Edit warring at Genshin Impact

[edit]

Hello 75.82.51.145. You've been warned per the result of the edit warring complaint. You may be blocked if you revert the article again before getting a consensus on the talk page. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 15:15, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Human sacrifice .. intended to please or appease .. ones own self" ? (Huh). Also see WP:NOR. Materialscientist (talk) 17:51, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. There is an assumption, actually more of a school of thought which pertains to human sacrifices being strictly a religious matter. This is simply presumptuous, as most of the history involving human sacrifice is pieced together by vague or non existent evidence. Realistically speaking, some or many of the ancient cultures which practiced this could have been under the command or will of a leader who enjoys the act for his or her own personal pleasure. I don't believe that it's a stretch of the imagination to assume this either. I'm aware that Wikipedia prohibits original research but the subject of this article is not well known to begin with, and the sources for the line I was trying to edit are also limited to just a single reference. I don't feel that my comment is out of place regardless of everything. But what are your thoughts on this? 75.82.51.145 (talk) 04:52, 20 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I should also note that murdering for personal pleasure is quite a common practice. It is more common of a human behavior than perhaps many would like to believe. Serial killers often murder out of personal pleasure, criminal organizations do it, others too. Again, I dont believe its a stretch of the imagination to associate personal pleasure to ritualistic sacrifice. There is also a realistic probability that the information I posted may be more factual than what the article suggests. You haven't responded in several days, so I will go ahead and edit the article how I see fit. Do feel free to do the same, you are also welcome to discuss anything here if you must. 75.82.51.145 (talk) 17:10, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello 75.82.51.145. You are risking a block if you add any more WP:Original research to articles. "There is also a realistic probability that the information I posted may be more factual than what the article suggests". That may be satisfactory to you, but it is not for Wikipedia. If you can find reliable sources then you can add material, and cite those references. otherwise not. EdJohnston (talk) 19:57, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if WP:OR covers adding speculation to topics which are speculation in the first place though. 75.82.51.145 (talk) 02:13, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your theory is not correct. I'd advise you not to post speculation. If there are no sources, Wikipedia can live without the material. EdJohnston (talk) 02:41, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are stating this users theory is incorrect with absolute certainty. Not only is this a personal opinion but also shows bias. I would also suggest to stop what you are doing as it will only make matters worse. This article article almost seems to be regulated as propaganda. Believe me when I tell you that your approach is perhaps not best. Also, if you haven't noticed, the source reference for the portion of this article in question is not accurate. This article being factual and correct should be the main concern here, and I'm not sure if this is perhaps an oversight on your part, but as of now, there are no valid sources for the information in question, and Wikipedia has plenty of factual information which can easily constitute as WP:OR or simply remains allowed without any sources. I also don't feel that anyone should be selective in choosing when to enforce any rules. I certainly feel this users edit fits within the probability of various motives for human sacrifice, especially considering how the listed motives are mostly speculation to begin with. "Personal gratification" does not strike me inappropriate. 17:55, 23 December 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.115.26.117 (talk)
