- How? --Troublemaker12345 (talk) 22:13, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, a diff is the difference between web pages. You'd need to go to the page and find the revision before yours. When you do that you should see the option for "newer revision". Click on this and then copy and paste the link that appears in the address bar to my talk page. 5 albert square (talk) 00:27, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Sian Blake
Regarding your recent revert of my edit on Sian Blake, surely it is original research stating that she was believed to have been killed in December? I know it is fairly obvious she was most likely killed in December but she could have been killed in January nonetheless. We have no sources that would contradict that as of now, and while I know there's a circa, I would recommend leaving her date of death being December 2015/ January 2016, unless you have any evidence that she was believed to have been killed in 2015.Theoosmond (talk) 18:11, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- It doesn't say that she was killed in December. It says that she was killed roughly December 2015, so therefore the date is not exact. Saying circa December 2015 is enough as that means it could be December or January. I daresay we will know more soon enough.--5 albert square (talk) 18:15, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- I've just noticed that you already had an explanation here regarding the circa date. If you're still disputing this, I would suggest that you open a discussion on the article talk page where everyone can see the discussion and join in.--5 albert square (talk) 18:19, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- No, I kept the circa date in my last edit edit, to mean around the two months. If it seems best for it to be like that, with the circa and the single month, it's best and I'll leave it at that. I was just concerned it might imply she was definitely killed in December 2015, and while that is the most likely scenario, she could have been killed in January. But if most editors don't seem to agree with that, I won't do anything. Thanks. Theoosmond (talk) 18:50, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Bad G5 deletions of Water & Bubbles, Jaws in Japan, and Virus Attack
These articles were not eligible for G5, since they weres created before either the sockmaster or the sock involved was blocked. They should therefore be restored. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by admins since 2006. (talk) 01:12, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- Apologies, mis-read the dates so I've restored Water & Bubbles and Jaws in Japan. However, Virus Attack remains deleted because it was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. The attempt on it this time was the same word-for-word so there was no improvement.--5 albert square (talk) 01:24, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Problems
- Sites with a
wikimedia.org
address were by mistake redirected to the Wikimedia Foundation wiki on 26 January. This included Meta and Wikimedia Commons. The mistake was fixed after an hour. [4] - Some users had problems logging in and out around 22 January. Bots also had problems and edit previews did not work properly. This was because of problems related to the new component SessionManager. It was undone on 23 January. [5][6]
- Because of new problems with SessionManager the latest version of MediaWiki was removed from the Wikimedia wikis again on 31 January. The new version this week will be without SessionManager. [7]
Changes this week
- The page history will get a help link. This will go to Help:Page history on Meta. Wikis can exchange it for a link to their local pages. [8]
- Notifications will only show part of a page name if it is very long. You will also have another way to mark notifications as read. [9][10]
- The Universal Language Selector input methods are now available with the visual editor. This means many who write in non-Latin scripts can now use the visual editor. [11]
- The visual editor will now give you more tools to edit tables. You can move rows and columns in a table and copy parts of tables to make new ones. You can also copy and paste more than one cell at the same time. [12][13][14]
- The visual editor has a new warning message when you leave a page you are editing without saving. Non-English wikis might need to translate it. [15][16]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 2 February. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 3 February. It will be on all wikis from 4 February (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 2 February at 20:00 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the next meeting with the Architecture committee. The topic this week is expiring watch list entries. The meeting will be on 3 February at 22:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The
rest.wikimedia.org
domain will be shut down. This is planned to happen in March. You should use/api/rest_v1/
at each individual project domain instead. [17]
