[edit]Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Greg Pak— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk or my talk page. Thank you. Serols (talk) 17:48, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Coryphantha. I noticed that you recently removed content from Julie Brown without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Welcome!
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
Here are some links to pages you may find useful:
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- Simplified Manual of Style
You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a certain number of days and made a certain number of edits.
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (2604:2000:1382:C5DD:0:E081:BE3B:628B) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! Jtrrs0 (talk) 15:37, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
John Lydon
[edit]This is your only warning; if you remove or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia again, as you did at John Lydon, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - FlightTime (open channel) 20:57, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
This is your only warning; if you remove or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Do not delete content and say it's a BLP violation, multiple sources reference her birthdate Kyle Bryant (talk) 13:23, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

- @Kb03: Please remove your false warning from my talk page. I did NOT blank the John Lydon page. I removed NINE CHARACTERS that were a blatant WP:BLP violation. [1] Making false accusations is serious and I’ll report this to admins if you continue. —2604:2000:1382:C5DD:0:E081:BE3B:628B (talk) 13:34, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- The standard warning template refers to the removal of content (even a small amount of content) as well as blanking. It was the appropriate template to use (though I think everyone involved could be handling this a bit more effectively). General Ization Talk 13:46, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
You need to slow down. Evanna Lynch's birthdate was in fact available at one of the sources cited at that article. You might need to do a little research to locate easily verifiable information before you start removing birthdates and other things that appear to you to be BLPvios. I have defended you once at WP:AIV today, but I won't do a second time. General Ization Talk 13:34, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- @General Ization: I thank you and apologize and I won’t return to that page. I looked through the references and could find no RS for birthdate and middle name. I just saw that you footnoted and I thank you greatly for that.
- I think a blanking notice for deleting a BLP vio is overkill.
- Thank you again.—2604:2000:1382:C5DD:0:E081:BE3B:628B (talk) 13:48, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
IMDb sourcing
[edit]Hi, first of all thank you for ensuring Wikipedia bios are well sourced :). However, you said that IMDb was not a valid source for bios, but I can't find anything that specific in our policies. Looking through other authorities such as the Library of Congress, it looks like they are also treating IMDb as reliable (and they reach the same conclusion). So I have to ask: do you have reasons to believe that information is incorrect? -- Luk talk 14:52, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- Luk, the IP is correct. IMDB is not a reliable source. See WP:CITINGIMDB. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 14:58, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:2604:2000:1382:C5DD:0:E081:BE3B:628B reported by User:Carl Tristan Orense (Result: ). Thank you. [edit]Your recent editing history at Glenn Weiss shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. IP, I see that you are back in the thick of it again, now concerning your edits at Glenn Weiss. You can avoid a lot of this by actually using the Talk pages of the subject articles to discuss issues you see as WP:BLPvios. As we demonstrated above and at Kyle's Talk page, a little discussion can often lend clarity to what is fundamentally a miscommunication. Engagement on a Talk page (and suspension of edit reversion while the discussion is going on) is usually they key to avoiding accusations of edit warring. I'd love to be able to say at WP:EW3 that you are trying to do the right thing, but the right thing involves discussing your concerns, not just reversion. (Edit summaries don't count.) Your edit history shows that you have never participated (using this IP) in a discussion on an article's Talk page about an issue specific to that article, which pretty much forecloses that argument in your defense. General Ization Talk 15:26, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- Also, you need to give it a rest at Glenn Weiss. WP:EW makes it clear that the rules against edit warring can be triggered by reverts "whether involving the same or different material". Having now been reported to WP:EW3 for edit warring at that article, you are not helping your case at all by continuing to edit that article (even if not reverting) while the case remains open. There is no deadline to fix everything in Wikipedia. I'd strongly recommend that you take a self-imposed break from editing articles (and that you respond to the investigation at WP:EW3), lest a mandatory break be issued to you.
