[edit]Hello, I'm Ad Orientem. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Talk:Carlo Maria Viganò, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Ad Orientem (talk) 21:43, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Display name 99. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Carlo Maria Viganò that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Please avoid snarky disrespectful edit summaries. And for the record, you weren't steps ahead of me because your edit includes exactly the information I put in my edit summary. Display name 99 (talk) 00:07, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
The source specifically states that McCarrick participated in the Mass where Wuerl received the red hat. He didn't give the Mass; it was offered by the Pope. McCarrick was simply one of the many cardinals present. There were 20 cardinals named in that consistory. So that means he "gave" Masses for 19 others. Your edit summaries are very cocky and disrespectful but it's clear you don't know what you're saying. Display name 99 (talk) 00:18, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
I specifically typed "participated."2601:447:4101:41F9:529:DCBA:F533:B7FA (talk) 00:31, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
- I was focused on your edit summary. The edit itself wasn't as bad. I still don't see why that particular event is important but I suppose I can let it go. Please remember to keep using the citation templates, keep your writing style neutral (words like "even" frequently show bias), and your edit summaries civil. I will endeavor to do the same. Now I had to include participate for a third time.2601:447:4101:41F9:529:DCBA:F533:B7FA (talk) 00:40, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have recently shown interest in living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
