About Buddha
[edit]User:Joshua Jonathan, JimRenge, User:Doug Weller, User:Ms Sarah Welch Sources clear on where Buddha was born (Indian government itself has made it clear that present day Nepal is Buddhas birthplace, so unless you think the government is not a representation of majority of people of that same country, i have nothing more to say to you):
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kishor-panthi/yes-yes-buddha-was-born-i_b_9989224.html
It is hardly believable that admins would fall into some random sources and comments from a few sources about their version of birthplace claims as some unknown cities in india when sources like UNESCO, Government of Nepal and India both, tons of other governments, a written inscription by a very famous indian emperor: Ashoka (earliest evidence of any inscription of the buddha) have made it clear about Lumbini as well as buddhas early life. The claims about different unknown cities in india-these random sources are from people who are just playing admins like you and you are very happy to remain ignorant. Maybe it is hard for all of you to see that if we dont put Lumbini, present day Nepal word by word as the birthplace in this article, then for articles like Jesus Christ, we should also remove the city's name as there is ongoing debate about it? Interesting that none of the historical religious figures have any controversy to add present day country in their info! Same goes for many other historical figures. There is not a single genuine verifiable claim from any single source about all those idiotic cities of india which have a solid proof about being the birthplace, and yet you do not seem to have an objective eye to notice that... And also, the Ashokan pillar inscription dates back to the most earliest point of written evidence about the birthplace and none of the indian sources have anything closer to that date. So which latter sources with inscription does it look copied more? Is it that hard to see, who copied from who? An indian emperor's claims about buddha's birthplace, government of india's claim on birthplace and yet all of them saying Nepal as the birthplace? Too hard to follow much?
I have no more time to waste on this and have given up. Ignorance can be treated (maybe) but pure stupidity cannot! 1NepalPatriot (talk) 19:35, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- I'm the only Admin in your list, and I've never edited any of the articles you have edited. Doug Weller talk 19:47, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- There's the very quick response again! Read carefully, im not referring to what i edited, im referring to that article as a whole. Admins are being involved since ages in that one and using and some supporting completely laughable sources and sources that cant prove its realibility with any written proof that dates before the ashokan pillar. So how did i get involved in this mess? because admins didnt do their job properly it seems. 1NepalPatriot (talk) 19:51, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a newspaper, nor a mirror site for one or the other political groups /advocacy /nationalists /newspapers. You are mistaken about the Buddha or Nepal or India being targeted. We have other South Asian articles where we don't specify the "present day country", but use other terms (see Pāṇini and Talk:Pāṇini for example). There too we deal with those upset that their "present day country" is not being mentioned in "hardly believable" wikipedia! We must stick to NPOV and reliable scholarship. Take care. With metta, Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 19:49, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- And NPOV is writing Indian subcontinent? and india as place of death. Curious, the issue is only with birth which was in present day Nepal and death which in india is universally accepted? Like i said, its obviously clear how ignorance is being played. And, you have completely ignored the issue of ashokan pillar which is the oldest inscription from the centuries of buddha clearly marking where buddha was born. the rest sources for indian claims are of 18th and 19th century articles-- hillarious!1NepalPatriot (talk) 05:38, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
