Welcome to Wikipedia!
I'm Walter Görlitz, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge. Although you're free to perform most tasks on Wikipedia without registering, it's highly recommended you create an account as there are many added benefits. It's private and secure and it's also free, simple, and quick to do.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. If you register an account, you can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you could put a link to it on your user page.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your IP address linked to your contributions page (however, if you create an account, your IP address will be hidden and you will be able to build a custom signature that can link to your own user page), a link to this IP's talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
[edit] Hello, I'm FlightTime. Please refrain from changing genres as you did to the page Two Steps from the Move but you didn't provide a reliable source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. It has been removed and archived in the page history for now.
Thank you. - FlightTime (open channel) 15:59, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to change genres without discussion or sources, as you did at Street Poetry, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 15:59, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources, as you did at The Best of Hanoi Rocks. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:00, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Genre changes
[edit]Please stop genre warring, even if you have a source, it still requires discussion, some editors might not think your references are not a reliable source. Continuing as you are will only lead to a block. Please discuss any genre issues on the article talk page fist. Cheers, - FlightTime (open channel) 16:14, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- User:FlightTime, I don't think I ever really listened to Hanoi Rocks. They got four genres--I hope they're all verified, but I can't help but wonder if we're not overdoing it. Drmies (talk) 23:31, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Drmies: Yeah, I don't know the band either. My concern here is, changes to anyone/anything genres should be discussed first. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:17, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
