Information icon Hi आभीरवाटक! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Abhira

[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like Abhira are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 12:50, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jaitugi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Abhira. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:06, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Gwalvanshi Ahir, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Raj era sources are considered as unreliable and are not accepted in caste articles as per community consensus! Thank you. Ekdalian (talk) 08:28, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Gwalvanshi Ahir, you may be blocked from editing. Persistent addition of Raj era or even prior sources is not acceptable in contentious caste articles. You can only cite modern scholarly work by reliable authors. Ekdalian (talk) 16:19, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ekdalian fine आभीरवाटक (talk) 16:22, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, आभीरवाटक! Ekdalian (talk) 16:22, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Gwalvanshi Ahir. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Ekdalian (talk) 16:21, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of discretionary sanctions on caste articles

[edit]
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in South Asian social groups. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Gwalvanshi Ahir, you may be blocked from editing. Ekdalian (talk) 11:54, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

you are talking bs, every source i added that day wasn't unsourced or poorly sourced. each of them were written after Raj Era. please allow me to edit them properly. and incase if the sources again are poor, kindly tell what type of sources can i use. Thanking You आभीरवाटक (talk) 00:35, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I have mentioned earlier. Anyway, you need to cite modern scholarly work by reliable authors. Moreover, discuss the proposed changes in the article talk page and achieve consensus first; this would be the best approach for such contentious caste articles. Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 08:03, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Review my current edit on Gwalvanshi Ahir page, kindly respond if the sources are unrealiable. Thanks आभीरवाटक (talk) 09:53, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have mentioned clearly in my edit summaries! Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 10:54, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dhiraj Singh (Khichi) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Dhiraj Singh (Khichi), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Dhiraj Singh (Khichi). Thanks! Dan arndt (talk) 05:18, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abhiras of Bhambhagiri moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Abhiras of Bhambhagiri. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Ratnahastin (talk) 09:58, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Avoid using Raj era sources on caste articles. They are unreliable , see WP:RAJ, government published gazetteers aren't reliable either. Ratnahastin (talk) 10:00, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Nomination of Dauwa Ahir for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Dauwa Ahir is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dauwa Ahir until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Gwalvanshi Ahir, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Prince Deckow Sr. (talk) 08:38, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sir please see the edit log I am just trying to save it from recent vandalization by Penicalformation please allow me to change it. Thanks आभीरवाटक (talk) 08:41, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Note that the high level "only warning" given above was inappropriate. The editor that issued it has been warned.  —Smalljim  11:05, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi आभीरवाटक! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you.  —Smalljim  11:03, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Smalljim can you please stop the other guy he is initiating all this आभीरवाटक (talk) 11:11, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have just blocked User:Penicalformation for 48 hours for edit warring and have undone their latest edits. If they return, though, you must not continue to just revert their edits - please read WP:Dispute resolution and take action based on the guidance there.  —Smalljim  11:21, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please kindly look into this matter. Anyone is again vandalizing Gwalvanshi Ahir page. आभीरवाटक (talk) 02:58, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   —Smalljim  10:06, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Smalljim Sir please recheck the pages of Gwalvanshi Ahir & ग्वालवंशी someone is trying to vandalize it, I am just saving it. Kindly, look into this matter as soon as possible. Thanks आभीरवाटक (talk) 10:11, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No. I told you on 24 May what actions you should be taking, but you have just continued to revert the other editors changes. This cannot continue. Take the next 24 hours to review the guidance set out in the links provided above and then take appropriate action to help resolve the dispute.  —Smalljim  10:20, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Smalljim Can't you see the edit log of the page? That guys is constantly adding fake info/references from that day only. I am just trying to save this wiki page. Please resolve this issue. I would be grateful of you. आभीरवाटक (talk) 10:21, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
+ He's on Simple Wikipedia too आभीरवाटक (talk) 10:29, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All that any editor without specialised knowledge in this area will see is a long series of reverts from one version of the article to another, with neither being clear vandalism. You need to clearly explain, in some detail, on the article's talk page what is wrong with the other editors changes. After doing that, if the other editor(s) do not engage with you to achieve consensus, you will then have a good basis for seeking dispute resolution. As I said, you can profitably use the period of your block to work out a strategy. Make sure you re-read the "Introduction to contentious topics" that was posted on this page on 14 May, too.  —Smalljim  10:50, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Smalljim i'm looking forward to do it, can you protect/lock the Gwalavanshi Ahir page? If you do so I would be very grateful of you. Thanking you आभीरवाटक (talk) 11:59, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
typo Gwalvanshi Ahir आभीरवाटक (talk) 12:00, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No I won't do that because there is no clear evidence that your preferred version is the better one.  —Smalljim  12:39, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Smalljim how can I prove it? आभीरवाटक (talk) 12:42, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have told you above what you need to do.  —Smalljim  12:45, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Smalljim Thank you, I will do it as soon as possible. आभीरवाटक (talk) 12:52, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
