The article Eliezer Weishoff has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Kudpung (talk) 12:33, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you in such a hurry? I am still working on the article. דוד שי (talk) 12:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:24, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Suzie Navot

[edit]

Hi, I'm Sulfurboy. דוד שי, thanks for creating Suzie Navot!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. ..

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Sulfurboy (talk) 04:07, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ranan Lurie, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Rogers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please edit the "Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel" page again

[edit]

Hi, I was reading the wiki and saw you were the last edit to the page. In the overview I noticed the number of missile attacks is not the same as what was listed in the source for the overview. (reference number 26) It should say 8,600 total and 6,000 from 2005. (instead of 4,800 of and 4,000) I would also note the source is dated as 2009 so it doesn't take into account any attacks after that point. As I only just made this account, I am unable to fix it myself, so I would appreciate your assistance in improving the accuracy of the overview.

דוד שלום - Greetings, David, as I blush for having taken the old and easy way out when adding links to other language versions of Galil Jewish-Arab School earlier today (and in Hebrew too, as you discovered and corrected). I simply bolted when faced with the unfamiliar nomenclature on the Wikidata form for interlanguage links. </blush> Thanking you for your two edits was to signal my acknowledgement of wrongdoing. Meanwhile I've discovered Help:Interlanguage links#Wikidata, and soon enough I'll have another edit of this sort so will step through the Help page till I get it right and can perform my Wikignomework properly. כל טוב, Deborahjay (talk) 12:27, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Drafts

[edit]

Hi, I moved this back to draft space as it's a BLP and has no sourcing to support the bulk of the content. If you wish to review drafts, please apply at WP:AFC/P but familiarize yourself with WP:BLP requirements as well as WP:RS. Praxidicae (talk) 18:55, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Praxidicae, I have added some refernces, I hope that's enough to move it to the articles domain. דוד שי (talk) 19:33, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not a single reference included currently or previously support the bulk of the content nor does it show that he is notable. Praxidicae (talk) 19:34, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Praxidicae, isn't a CEO of a NASDAQ company for many years notable? דוד שי (talk) 19:36, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No, you're not automatically notable for holding a job or even founding a company. Notability is not inherited and you certainly can't use an SEC filing as a source for personal items nor can it be used to establish notability. Praxidicae (talk) 19:39, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moran Magal moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Moran Magal, does not have appropriate sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) See the YouTube entry under Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources: "Most videos on YouTube are anonymous, self-published, and unverifiable, and should not be used at all." Consider using Hebrew-language sources as references. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.138.61.41 (talk) 07:35, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Source of statements in article "2023 Israeli judicial reform"

[edit]

Hi @דוד שי, I'm contacting you as I see that you've been working on article 2023 Israeli judicial reform. I've been trying to improve it recently and am hampered by not understanding Hebrew. I'm hoping that you'll be able to help me. My concern is that the article contains a number of statements which are presented as factual but seem to me to reflect a particular view of the current situation and of the proposed changes. Looking at the paragraphs in section 2023 Israeli judicial reform#Arguments put forward to justify the change, I see that none of them use quotations marks, making it appear that their text is factual. I'm trying to find the source of this text. Some of the citations in this section refer to the Kohelet Policy Forum study and some to a Web site called דְּיוֹמָא, which I see anglicised variously as D'yoma and Dumas. Looking (via Google Translate) at article https://dyoma.co.il/law/1600, I see that the paragraphs in this section of the Wikipedia article are very similar to the paragraphs in the D'yoma/Dumas article. Does the text in the D'yoma/Dumas article come from the government's proposal, and/or from the Kohelet Policy Forum or from somewhere else? Thanks Misha Wolf (talk) 15:41, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I wrote "none of them use quotations marks, making it appear that their text is factual". There are, obviously, other ways than the use of quotation marks to indicate that text is being sourced from elsewhere, eg by introducing it with something like "According to ...". What concerns me is that no mechanism has been used to convey to the reader that the text they are reading is taken from another publication, whether verbatim or slightly tweaked. Misha Wolf (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Since the name of the paragraph is "Arguments put forward to justify the change", it contains only points of view, I'll try to find sources the the arguments, starting with D'yoma. דוד שי (talk) 16:51, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@דוד שי, until I started working on this article 4 days ago, the "Judicial Selection" section had no sub-headings (see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2023_Israeli_judicial_reform&oldid=1137259427). I introduced the sub-headings to try to differentiate statements of fact from partisan arguments. But I feel that the arguments still look too authoritative. A case of Lies, damned lies, and statistics, I think. Thanks for your help. Misha Wolf (talk) 18:51, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:21, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
