Sportservice Lorinser GmbH, founded 1930 in Winnenden, Germany, is a specialist tuning company for Mercedes-Benz.
History
[edit]Lorinser – the history of a world-wide success story Zero hour. On March 1, 1930, master auto mechanic Erwin Lorinser founded an independent motor vehicle garage. Word spread fast about its excellent reputation. Lorinser’s dedication and willingness to take risks soon caught the attention of the former Daimler-Benz AG.
In 1935, Lorinser became Daimler AG's official reseller and takes over the maintenance and service responsibility for the Mercedes brand.[1]
Erwin Lorinser, the founder, started to involve his son, Manfred, in the business during 1974 by appointing him as the Managing Director.
In 1976, Lorinser started tuning for Mercedes-Benz.[2] In the same year, Lorinser's new car dealership was established in Winnenden.
By 1981, "Sportservice Lorinser GmbH" was enlisted in the Commercial Register.
Since 2006, Marcus Lorinser (son of Manfred Lorinser) is leading the company's Sportservice department.
