[edit]Shah Fariq Aizal Sha Ghazni (Jawi: شه فاريق ءايزال بن ش غازني; born 2 January 1991) is a Malaysian politician, entrepreneur, and advocate. He currently serves as the Information Chief of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) Federal Territories Chapter, a role he has held since 2022.
Prior to his political career, Shah Fariq Aizal co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer of Collarwork.io (formerly HAUZ) from 2019 to 2023, a leading productivity software company in Malaysia. He currently holds the position of Director at Ipoh Security Sdn Bhd.
Shah Fariq Aizal was instrumental in establishing the MUDA Federal Territories Chapter in December 2020 and subsequently assumed the role of Information Chief, overseeing MUDA's initiatives in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
In 2024, he was recognized for his leadership and commitment to democratic principles by being selected as a member of the International Republican Institute (IRI) Generation Democracy initiative.
Early life and family
[edit]Shah Fariq Aizal Sha Ghazni, born and raised in Ipoh, Malaysia, hails from a family deeply rooted in both business and politics. The family is prominently involved in the private security services sector through Ipoh Security Sdn Bhd since its founding by his grandfather, Hameed Mydin, in 1976 and has been active in the Persatuan Industry Keselamatan Malaysia (PIKM). Shah Fariq Aizal's father, Sha Ghazni Hameed, and his uncle, Shah Jahankhir Hameed, continued to lead these endeavors.
Beyond their business interests, the family has contributed significantly to community projects in Ipoh, particularly in sports and community building, including their support for the Perak Shooting Club, Royal Ipoh Club & Rotary Club of Kinta.
Shah Fariq Aizal entered politics with MUDA (Malaysian United Democratic Alliance), where he and other early members focused on developing grassroots leaders across Federal Territories, notably in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. His political career began in 2020 and remains active.
His late father, Sha Ghazni Hameed, held various positions within UMNO Perak and UMNO Ipoh Timor Division since the late 1990s, showcasing the family's enduring involvement in Malaysian politics.
