I have always been somewhat of a compulsive editor and for the last six years have served as editor of a quarterly history journal. When I first interacted with Wikipedia in its early years, it was like waking up as a character in "Lord of the Flies," a very uncivilized and dangerous place for ideas.The way in which the community now seems to police itself, and the civility I have encountered among today's "wiki-police" compared to former years has rekindled my interest in participating.
