Overview
[edit]Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a long-term medical condition where the blood pressure in the arteries is chronically elevated.[1]
Epidemiology
[edit]High blood pressure is very common, and affects between 16 and 37% of the population. [2] In 2010, it was a factor in 9.4 million deaths globally.[3]
