The Game Boy Advance (GBA) is a handheld game console developed and sold by Nintendo. It was released in Japan in March 2001, and in North America and Europe the following June. Two revised models, the Game Boy Advance SP and the Game Boy Micro, were released in 2003 and 2005, respectively. Part of the sixth generation of video game consoles, the GBA succeeded the Game Boy and Game Boy Color as the final console of Nintendo's Game Boy family.
