Sharon K. Farber
[edit]Sharon K. Farber, Ph.D. is a clinical social worker, psychotherapist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. A frequent presenter in the United States and abroad, she has addressed many groups of mental health professionals as well as non-professional audiences. She has taught at SUNY- Downstate Medical School, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York University, Fordham University, and Hunter College schools of social work, as well as at several psychotherapy training institutes and the Cape Cod Institute[1][2]. She has appeared several times on network television, most recently on The Travel Channel’s Miracle Quest Series, speaking about the Appalachian snake-handling cults and the stigmata of Padre Pio, a Roman Catholic priest who was canonized as a saint in 2002[4].
Sharon K. Farber is also the author of several articles in professional peer-reviewed journals, on bodily self-harm, adoption, free association amd writing. She has served on the editorial board of the Clinical Social Work Journal[5] and is a faculty consultant to the New Directions writing program at the Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis[6].
