Limbo is a pioneering science fiction novel by Bernard Wolfe. It first appeared as an Ace Science Fiction paperback in 1951, and was reprinted in hard cover the next year. While satirical in nature, it is one of the first novels to deal seriously with the impact of cybernetics on society. It is also one of the first novels to deal seriously with a society recovering from a nuclear war, although its tone is harshly comic. In 1985, it was chosen as one of the best 100 science fiction novels ever published.[1]
