Still, I thought your speedy was a little severe, and a bit disrepectful to me, who carefully set up a deletion discussion Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Pwn after trying to assume some good faith--it's possible that Project Pwn might not have been intended for pure vandalism, but might be intended for editors interested in a specific bit of popular slang. In these cases, it's better to let the discussion run its course and invoke WP:SNOWBALL after a day or two. Also, you should quit being so sore about the Mzoli (sp?) Meats thing. Wow, is it ever good to hear from you! I can't blame you for pulling your hair out over this site. I'm doing the same.

I'd asked to be de-adminned, so yes, I guess I can always reclaim the mop and broom. It's just that I don't want to go through the pure h**l I did under the Lucky 6.9 account which you'll see in the edit history. Even without the mop and broom, I'm still doing NPP, especially since I'm running out of original contribution ideas. Case in point: Uncle Don's Toys. Thought it met notability standards, but it's more of a WP:LOCAL problem. Oh, well. I'm laying low and doing some general cleanup on my old articles, but I'm just not ready to butt heads with users with large chips on their shoulders.

Please tell me what I need to do to sign up for Veropedia. I can think of a slew of articles including some "fallen features" I'd like to add over there which have been butchered over here.

Revert

Going around and editing other people's comments on a talk page, essentially on a whim (these people are well aware WP:BADSITES has been rejected by the community) is certainly a form of vandalism in my book. If you don't think so, try to explain that to the editor who made the original comment. I already have, but perhaps you can do better. Can you take the time to talk to this user since you deleted the article they created? You didn't leave a note on their talk page to either welcome them or notify them of the deletion. You replied to their note on the Help desk with a curt "See WP:MUSIC", which I'm sure is not going to help a brand new user. When they asked here on your talk page, you removed their question with no explanation. This user made what appeared to be a good faith contribution, I think they should be appropriately assisted if you are going to perform the deletion of that contribution. I do not know if this article was a copy-vio, but I do know that the only contributor to the article was Grubertestprep which strongly implies a conflict of interest (about which I warned him) and the problem of a user writing an a self-promoting autobiography. Deletion of Rockabilia

Trying to find out why this is up for deletion when it falls in the same category as interpunk, hottopic etc. This company can be found in Introducing Sociolinguistics by Rajend Mesthrie, Joan Swann, Anna Deumert, and William Leap. The no widely used adopted word rockabilia on Page 17: "... language. An example comes from the modern use of -bilia to mean `collectible things associated with the past', as in rockabilia ('rock music of the past') ..." in this book came from the company name Rockabilia. It can also be found in Music Online for Dummies by David Kushner a Spin magazine paperback, in four sections of the book: 1. on Page 108: "... com Collectibles Rockabilia www. rockabi 1 i a . com Jukeboxes Jukeboxes, Etc. www. j ukeboxesetc . ..." 2. from Index: "... Whatever, see WP:CSD, articles can be deleted if the meet that criteria, again no sources in google whatsoever, and the picture is a bag of trail mix. Reform and opening up

Since I see you speedied this yesterday and I'm not sure why, I wanted to tell you I've recreated it as a redirect to History of the People's Republic of China (1976–1989)#Reform and opening up. "Reform and opening up" is a direct translation of the Chinese phrase used to refer to the policies adopted during this time; even in English, it's an extremely common phrase and almost always refers to this specific period of China's history (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL). Out of its 230k GHits, there's under a few thousand which are not referring to this concept [5]. Cheers, cab 01:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Screaming Pepe

Why did you delete this? The page is not nonsense. It needed to be updated, but I was just following wikis guidelines to put stubs in place and let people edit the article. I admit there needs to be sources, but this is a relatively new and underground social phenomenon. I figured the community would fill in the blanks. Can the page be undeleted? I put a significant amount of time into the page, and I think the community can decide about its legitimacy. It was deleted so quickly I don't think it was ever given a fair chance to "get on its feet". Removal of Information from Fred Nile

Your recent edits to Fred Nile removed a significant amount of information. Granted, there was some need for more citations but that's a cue to add them, not remove the information. Anyone at all familiar with the Rev. Nile and his views would not find any of those quotes at all out of character and, as such, citing WP:BLP is not enough reason to remove them. (As luck would have it, I easily found sources for all those claims.)

What's more, you cannot dismiss a perfectly good reference just because of the publication it appears in. Yes, the Green Left Weekly is biased but so is every newspaper. Unless Nile has accused them of misquoting him in that article, you should not simply remove the quote.

AfDs are not like what?

The AfD for Brunswick South Primary School has become long and convoluted and hard to follow, and it was re-formatted to make it easier to follow and to make contributions to. Whether or not AfD's have looked this way in the past should not necessarily determine the way they look in the future. If you can provide a way of formatting this AfD that renders it as easy to follow and edit as the formatting that has been done by me and others, then please do so, or alternatively please provide an explanation for keeping such important processes opaque and therefore exclusionary. We can then have a sensible discussion about what the purpose of any way of formatting is rather than getting bogged down in reversions for the sake of some unexplained sense of 'tradition'.Eyedubya 20:53, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Other average editors seemed to like the reformatting. When the content takes up more than a page, it becomes hard to find one's place to insert a comment. The unstructured version also means that the shape of the discussion is hard to follow. Your version of the format means that the average editor will have to trawl through a rather repetitive discussion and is more likely than not to repeat the errors of assertion rather than argument already perpetrated within this AfD, thus making 'consensus' harder to reach. There are only a limited number of issues in this AfD and using sub-headings made this clear how repetitive many of the points were (especially those of the deletionists). Its length is way over its actual content, from an intellectual point of view. You haven't convinced me that your reverts have done anything positive for the debate, only muddied the already cloudy waters. Eyedubya 21:05, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Bob Lonsberry

I am quite suprised that the you deleted the article for Bob Lonsberry. Lonsberry is a fairly well known radio talk show host in upstate New York, all of Utah, and to an extent nationwide. I don't think it makes sense to delete an article because you feel parts of it are poorly written, that's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. You did not nominate the article for deletion and as far as I can tell there was no discussion, you simply unilaterally decided to delete it.

Please reinstate this article. If you feel the writing was so bad, you can simply bring it back as a stub. Something like "Bob Lonsberry is a conservative radio host with a commentary show broadcasting daily in Salt Lake City, Utah and Rochester, New York."

I deleted it because it was a major WP:BLP concern, I checked google, not much in WP:RS or WP:V, just blogs, trivial mentions, and non-independent websites, and without these sources, an article can't be created. Did you really check Google news? Because I see at least 103 articles articles that mention him. And if you check Google, you see 14,600 results. He is a pretty well known radio host, a columnist, and he is the author of a few books. I think deleting this article was a mistake. If it was woefully unfinished, then I can understand your decision, but if it was anything like EuroBasket 2007 squads, then it probably should have gone to AFD. Do you really believe there was a consensus in favor of deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Archimonde? I'm not at all certain the article should have been kept, but I think there should have been at least some reply to the keep comments (in my humble opinion, especially mine). Deletion review on PADD

An editor has asked for a deletion review of PADD. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review.

Don't know what's up with this "an editor" stuff; I listed the review. I want to use the template so I can follow whatever policies there are for Deletion Review. Anyway, I noticed this article on a core element of the Star Trek universe was deleted, and I thought it shouldn't have been deleted. The reasons given in the AfD discussion were valid, but deletion wasn't necessary; the article just needed OR cleanup. I've explained more at the DR listing. Austin Phantom Manhunt

I removed the part about the gun store stand off being in its 8th hour and just stated the facts that have happened and how it might be connected. Trying to not make it a news event per wiki's rules. This is a big story in Austin, as was the phantom manhunt of the previous week. Lots of sources for it, too. secret my account was not a single purpose account, it might be new but I had made edits to several articles besides the screwjob which you would see if you looked at my history, the reason why I made edits to that article was because it was going to be the days feater and I did not want there to be such a large amount of pro hart bias. I do not see how restoring agreed on and sourced information that was deleted without a good reason counts as being disruptive or using the account only for edit wars. Bmg916 despite what you and Scorpion0422 told secret, I never used a sockpuppet and I did not ask my friend to do the edits so he was not a meatpuppet. Myron Rolle

Rolle is certainly notable enough for Wikipedia. He was the No. 1 high school prospect in the nation in 2006 per ESPN. He received various ACC and freshman All-American honors as a true freshman starter for FSU in 2006. In addition he received many preseason honors and was on the Bednarik Award watch list. Well Rolle clearly doesn't fall into the same category that player did. Like someone on that page said, if you delete Myron Rolle you'd have to delete Jimmy Clausen. Rolle was just as big a high school prospect, is playing for a BETTER team and is far more accomplished in college than Clausen. Sorry, but Rolle is just easily notable as a college athlete.
