Financeit

[edit]

Financeit is a Canadian company specializing in point-of-sale (POS) financing systems primarily for the home improvement, recreational vehicle, and retail industries. The company was founded in 2011 by Michael Garrity, Casper Wong, and Paul Sehr [1]. Its headquarters is located in Toronto, Ontario [2].

History and Development

[edit]

Financeit was co-founded in 2011 and initially focused on the home improvement sector [3][4]. Since then, the company has expanded its services to include other industries such as recreational vehicles and retail. It’s mission is to facilitate commerce through seamless and accessible financing solutions.

In 2022, Financeit was acquired by Wafra Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm [5]. This acquisition was preceded by an investment from Goldman Sachs [6].

In 2022, Financeit was named one of Canada's Top Small and Medium Employers of 2022, recognizing its innovative human resource practices and exceptional work environment [7] [8].

As of January 1, 2024, Casper Wong, previously the President, has taken over as CEO from Michael Garrity, who transitioned to the role of Executive Chair of the Board. Jerome Peeters, formerly of Simply Group, has been appointed COO, following Financeit's acquisition of Simply Group's consumer loan business [9].
