The Walls of Rabat, the capital of Morocco, was historically delimited by three lines of walls built at different periods: the Almohad walls (late 12th century), the Andalusian wall built by the Moriscos (early 17th century), and the Alaouite walls (late 18th century). The Kasbah of the Udayas, a smaller fortified citadel, existed before these walls but was rebuilt under the Almohads and expanded in later periods. Coastal fortifications were also added in the Alaouite period near the kasbah.
