User:ProfessorPaul
Greetings to One and All
[edit]I'm "ProfessorPaul," also known as (simply) Paul. I discovered Wikipedia in the spring of 2004 (while I was teaching an Economics class for a community college), but did not realize its real use and potential. I used it over and over again (as a reference source in my American Government class and my U.S. History class), but did not actually join until April, 2006.
Since then, I have made over 3000 edits (3000 edits? Wow! I need to get a life). I enjoy Wikipedia very much; to me, this is "recreation."
Wikipedia, compared to other forms of human recreation
[edit]- Wikipedia gets you higher than using illicit drugs;
- Wikipedia is safer than safe sex;
- Wikipedia is less frustrating than golf;
- Wikipedia is more secure than a bond fund;
- Wikipedia is the Reason God Made Oklahoma;
- Wikipedia is the real reason why Bob is smiling;
- Wikipedia is so easy, that even a caveman could edit it;
- Wikipedia is much less mysterious than the Da Vinci Code;
- Finally, it's not nice to fool Mother Nature, or Wikipedia.
Creating articles and Wiki-Categories
[edit]Editing Wikipedia is fun, but Wikipedia also needs people to create articles and categories. So--the list of 57 articles (and 4, now 3 categories) below owe their existence to me. Creating an article is not without its pratfalls: out of 59 articles I have written, 2 have been deleted. Don't let the potential of deletion discourage you, gentle reader.
