Re: Autoblock
Reading the new text "last address used" etc., I became curious and tested it myself. Here's what I know.
- I edit from a single static IP address.
- I made an edit with my dummy account, User:Freaksock, to ensure that an edit by that account would exist in the recent changes table at the time of the block (in the event that the blocking tool works that way).
- Immediately after making the edit, I returned to my regular account and blocked Freaksock for 15 minutes.
- Still on my main account, I opened an editing window for a randomly selected article and did not get a "you are blocked" message, presumably because Freaksock made no attempt to edit while blocked.
—freak(talk) 03:27, Mar. 14, 2007 (UTC)
I tested it again to be sure.
- Dummy account edited at 07:03, March 13, 2007, less than 24 hours ago.
- Dummy account was blocked again at 03:28, March 14, 2007.
- Main account edited from the same IP address at 03:29, March 14, 2007.
It would appear that autoblocks are not, in fact, retroactive (unless, of course, admins are now immune to autoblocks. If so, that would make two new features that I failed to notice). —freak(talk) 03:39, Mar. 14, 2007 (UTC)
- Which is a good thing for people who use proxies to access the internet (like people who edit from work). Respecting the block should not trigger the IP autoblock. --Tbeatty 03:42, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Unblock review
Per your request, I reviewed the {{unblock}} request at User talk:Dreamweaverjack. I've reduced the block from indefinite to 48 hours (total); and, I've left a discussion of my review in the section following unblock request. — ERcheck (talk) 01:38, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have to concur with BigDT and think prevention is not the issue any more. I would suggest an unblock on probation. Agathoclea 14:27, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Do whatever you would like, I do not mind others changing by blocks, as long as they explain why. You might want to ask ERCheck though, as he/she actually made the block. Prodego talk 17:32, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- FYI, I've unblocked Dreamweaverjack after further review of his comments, your comments, and those of BigDT and Agathoclea. See Dreamweaver's talk page for specifics.— ERcheck (talk) 20:01, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

My Talk Page
Id thank you not to delete any comments left on my talk page by other users. If i dont want them there then I will get rid of them myself. siarach 10:29, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- It was part of over 100 I reverted, I did not have the ability to check every page. Nothing personal. Prodego talk 17:33, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry
I am sorry, I did not realy think that this would work. I hope I didn't break anything...
User
I see you've poked your head into this mess as well. My thoughts are neatly summarized on my talk page, but I'd appreciate your help in prodding the situation in the right direction. An indefinite block is not called for - the blocking admin needs to figure that out, and the blocked editor needs to learn the value of patience. Cheers! bd2412 T 04:25, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Archiving Talk pages
Please can you explain the method for archiving my user talk page. Dreamweaverjack 22:55, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- The reason why it didn't show my username is because I was at university and it showed the library proxy server IP address of it which can be accessed by any student, so I can understand the confusion caused by my editing as it could have been by any other student. Another Anime Convention AFD
I would like to invite you to take a second look at the discussion regarding Another Anime Convention. Throughout the discussion several new sources and references had been added, and an entirely new claim to notability was introduced. Users such as Squilibob, SeanOrange, Farix, and PDelahanty had not had time to be exposed to the new information that was introduced. I ask you to reconsider the deletion, especially considering that User:Roninbk and I were still discussing the verifiability of the new claims. Kopf1988 23:42, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking a second look, and I am going to have to go to DRV. My argument about WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS was conceded, and replaced by my assertment of notability after adding new information. Thank you Kopf1988 00:02, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
An editor has asked for a deletion review of Another Anime Convention. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Kopf1988 00:10, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, I just deleted the script from Darkest Hours monobook, just before the IP had asked for help, Darkest's hour had just added the script to his monobook so I'm sure it was him, sorry for doing it so quickly Ryanpostlethwaite contribs/talk 19:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- All done, Ryanpostlethwaite was right but really I coud not edit anything at all. But with your and, Ryanpostlethwaite's help I got the stuff out. Also 1) I put the note in my monobook so If there was another issue I could remember. & 2) I made an alternate account so that I could test scripts before putting them in my monobook. Again thanks, -- Darkest Hour 20:02, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Nope
Here is the code, see if you know what is wrong with it.
// <pre> addOnloadHook(function() { if (wgTitle.indexOf("/") != -1 || document.title.indexOf("- History -") != -1) //no subpages or history return; addPortletLink("p-cactions", wgServer + '/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/' + wgTitle, "what links here", "ca-what links here", "what links here"); } }); //
This makes it vanish.
I also tried:
// <pre> addOnloadHook(function() { if (wgTitle.indexOf("/") != -1 || document.title.indexOf("- History -") != -1) //no subpages or history return; addPortletLink("p-cactions", "wgServer + '/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/' + wgTitle", "what links here", "ca-what links here", "what links here"); } }); //
But that takes me to this link wgServer + '/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/' + wgTitle. I am totally clueless as to what is wrong here. -- Darkest Hour 22:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Still no worke -- Darkest Hour 22:52, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
