I'm a professional neuroscientist (see here) with some expertise in a broad range of neuroscience topics (channels, synapses, neurons, some systems and circuits, some theoretical neuroscience). My main interest is in the detailed neural machinery of the neocortex and thalamus, and their relationship to "mind". I sometimes correct or update Wikipedia articles in these fields, because I think it's a tremendous resource which can only getter better if experts participate. Often I just add comments to the Discussion pages, partly because I'm not good at formatting, partly because a good fix would be rather laborious, and partly out of caution. In general the Wikipedia standard, in the subjects I'm interested in, is quite high, and I admire those who actually get things rolling, even if they are not really "experts". It's only when one tries to write a clear, informative and simple account that one realizes that one does not fully understand things, and that it is not easy. I am creating a draft of an article on "Open Channel Block". Paulhummerman (talk) 16:17, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
