"Only after disaster can we be resurrected." -- Tyler Durden, Fight Club

"Madness is something rare in individuals - but in groups, parties, peoples, ages it is the rule." -- Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil

"But one thing is the thought, another thing is the deed, and another thing is the idea of the deed. The wheel of causality doth not roll between them." -- Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spake Zarathustra

"Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains." -- Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract

"I heartily accept the motto,--'That government is best which governs least;' and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which I also believe,--'That government is best which governs not at all;' and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have." -- Henry David Thoreau

"All machines have their friction; and possibly this does enough good to counter-balance the evil. At any rate, it is a great evil to make a stir about it. But when the friction comes to have its machine, and oppression and robbery are organized, I say, let us not have such a machine any longer." -- Henry David Thoreau

"Religion. It's given people hope in a world torn apart by religion." -- Jon Stewart
