Striped Burrfish2
[edit]Description: The striped burrfish is a small fish which has small sharp spines and black stripes covering its entire body. The striped burrfish visits the Chesapeake Bay’s grassy flats during the spring time. Striped burrfish feed on invertebrates such as barnacles and snails. The burrfish is closely related to porcupine fish in terms of being part of the Diodontidae <Britannica Academic> family.
Distribution: The Striped Burrfish mostly inhabit area of tropics corresponding to the coastal area of Oceans and rivers.
Diet: burrfish feed on invertebrates such as barnacles and snails <National Aquarium>. By using their jaw the are able to crush shells of their food or sometimes swallow their prey whole.
