Introduction: Mumtaz Abbas Shigri hails from Shigar district of Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan. He received his early education from his hometown Tsar Shigar. Admitted from Mumtaz is the fourth of six siblings.

Secondary education: He went to Karachi for secondary education, and enrolled in the Federal Urdu University when there was no journalism student in his village. In other words, the other villagers were unfamiliar with the word journalism. ۔ He passed BS degree in Mass Communication from Urdu University with high marks

Journalistic Life: Mumtaz Abbas Shigri started his journalism as soon as he entered Gogoi University. He started writing columns in his student days. At the same time, he started publishing in K2, Baad shimal, Pakistan and other major newspapers. He also has the honor of publishing columns in Pakistan.


Academic Life: Practically stepped into journalism in 2018 when there was a newspaper called Basharat in Karachi. He started working there as a sub-editor, after working there for a year, he joined the daily Jang Karachi as a data entry editor and later as a sub-editor. He worked in the daily Jang for a year and then left work and went to the village. On his return from the village, he started working as a copy editor with 24 News, Pakistan's leading news channel. After working there for seven months, he joined G TV News, a rising news channel, as a copy editor, and is working there.
