   welcome to my lists page

This Wikipedia page provides lists of the Filmographies, Theatrical, and Television appearances of the screen stars whose biographies I have penned or plan to write. These collections include their lead roles and supporting roles, giving those interested a better comprehension of the range of their acting careers. Each list includes the film's titles, the year of its release, the character portrayed by the respective star, and other related facts associated with the picture. Each line item was verified and cross-referenced using multiple sources, such as internet archives, film archives, official websites, trade journals, newspapers, and books from my library, to ensure the accuracy of the content.

Various stars began their careers by getting their first acting experience on the legitimate stage before they moved to Hollywood. Over time, many transitioned to the silver screen, primarily driven by the allure of higher financial rewards and recognition. These theatrical listings offer a resource for viewers, enabling them to discover these actors' artistic paths and growth. The section documents the play's title, the year of the production, and the specific character brought to life by these personalities.

The television roles section of the page documents the appearances of some of these stars in the emerging medium of television. As the medium of television gained popularity, these celebrities ventured into this new territory to continue captivating audiences. The television roles section provides an extensive list of shows and series in which these stars appeared, along with the corresponding years and the characters they portrayed. This Wikipedia page is a resource for anyone seeking verified information about a particular screen stars' filmography, theatrical contributions, and television endeavors.

In addition, I have included a compilation of the templates I have developed, accompanied by a glossary of typical newspaper and magazine terms often used to describe 1920s melodramas.

In early 1916, after Emory Johnson had signed his Universal contract, Carl Laemmle of Universal Film Manufacturing Company thought he saw a potential leading man in Johnson. Laemmle sought a leading man comparable to Wally Reid. He also hoped to create a movie couple that could make sparks fly on the silver screen. Laemmle chose Johnson to be his new leading man. Laemmle chose Dorothy Davenport to generate the screen chemistry with Johnson. Johnson and Davenport made 13 films together. The series started with the feature production of Doctor Neighbor in May 1916 and ended with another feature production, The Devil's Bondwoman, in November 1916.
