PLATIKISTAN
Platikistan, also known as the People’s Democratic Republic of Platikistan (PDRP), is a micronation[1] that came into existence on 18 December 2024, shortly after some crypto investors took over the President Platy crypto project.[2] According to Cronos, President Platy token has about 35000 holders, with a total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens[3]. Platikistan considers these holders its citizens.[4] The holders arranged a community takeover (CTO) following the disappearance of the initial Platy team.[5] Their move was judged legitimate and was approved by the relevant crypto platforms and journals, such as Coingecko[6] and Dexscreener,[7] which did not hesitate to update the token's information, as requested by the community leaders.
The PDRP adopted the Platy token as its official currency, and claims to have a constitution, a government, virtual land, a parliament, a flag, an anthem, a population, and some other attributes of statehood, but does not claim any physical territory.[8]
According to Forbes, the major task of the Platikistani government is to oversee the appreciation of Platy, its national currency.[9] This state remains virtual and no information about the actual members of government is available, with the government being active only on social media platforms.[10] [11] Platy seems not to have any utility, other than being traded as a cryptocurrency.[12] The official website of Platikistan, https://www.platikistan.com/, equally contains some information about virtual state.[13]
