Lake Rutoto
[edit]Location
[edit]Lake Rutoto (also refered to as Lake Nkugutte) is located in Rutoto sub-county,Rubirizi district in South Western Uganda.[1]. This lake's shape resembles the map of Africa[2].
Formation

Environmental effect
[edit]The rise in the occurrence of hydrogen sulfide in the water affects aquatic life which is evidenced by the increasing fish deaths in the lake. And also causes air pollution in the surroundings[4].
Uses and importance
[edit]Its believed that this lake has spirits that give wealth. This lake is a source of water and fish to the local community[5]. And its also a tourism center[6]
