From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In recognition of Black History Month, the librarians of Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University are hosting a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, to improve coverage of heroes and heroines in the desegregation of Tennessee's educational system. The focus of the edit-a-thon ties with the national theme created by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History: The Crisis in Black Education. The edit-a-thon is being conducted to increase the number of minority editors as well as to increase coverage of content related to African American history.
