February 22 - The bitter feud between the two major American open-wheel racing series, the Indy Racing League and Champ Car, ends after 14 years with the two series agreeing to unify for the 2008 IndyCar Series season under the IRL banner.
April 20 - Danica Patrick wins the Indy Japan 300, becoming the first female to win an IndyCar race.
May 25 - Scott Dixon wins the 92nd Indianapolis 500.
June 15 - Allan McNish, Rinaldo Capello and Tom Kristensen win the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans for Audi.
