Dr. Jane Mwikali Makau (born October 6, 1977) is a Kenyan religious leader, entrepreneur, author, and government official. She is currently the Chairperson of the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) in the Executive Office of the President of Kenya. Makau is known for her work in spiritual leadership, women's empowerment, and community development and her extensive experience in business administration and management.

Government career
[edit]Makau was the director of the National (CSR)Water Harvesting & Storage Authority (NWHSA) from 2018 to 2022. As part of the NWHSA, she chaired the Strategy, Technical and Business Development Committee and developed and launched the NWHSA's Strategic Plan 2022-2027. She was also previously director of the National Council for Population and Development (NCPD).
Makau has served as chairperson of the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) since 2022.[1] She is the first woman to hold the position since 1966. As director, Makau has enhanced measures against illegal gambling. She has streamlined the licensing process through digitalization, and introduced Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) in licensing requirements. She initiated the development of the Gaming Management System. In policy, she helped developed the Gambling Control Bill and the Lottery Bill 2023, and has introduced measures to address responsible gambling.
Religious career
[edit]Makau is an ordained reverend with the Freedom in Jesus Revival and Healing Ministry. The ministry focuses on unifying the Christian community, empowering youth, promoting Christian ethics, and addressing issues affecting peace and development.
Makau is the founder and president of the Eternal Excellencies Women Ministry, which has undertaken various community projects including medical camp drives, drilling boreholes, food drives, and school revitalization efforts.
