Educake
[edit]Educake is an online retrieval practice and revision platform for both primary and secondary schools. Teachers can set classwork and homework and Educake provides analysis of student results, using the data provided by quizzing. Educake has over 100k subject-specific questions which are automatically marked, specification-matched and are written by subject editors and teachers. Teachers can assess individual pupil understanding, compare class and national averages and identify learning gaps.
History
[edit]Educake was founded in 2011 by Charley Darbishire in Oxford in the UK. At first, Educake started to provide online homework and revision for many KS3 subjects. The company has since expanded to cover KS2 and developed maths, science and English for primary, alongside maths, science, English, business, geography history, PE and computer science.
In July 2023, Educake became part of The Twinkl Group.[1] Twinkl are a company with a library of over 1,000,000 teaching and activity resources created by educators. They provide planning, assessment and leadership resources from EYFS to Secondary and beyond.
Achievements
[edit]In July 2024, Educake received an ASE Evaluated Award (Green Tick), alongside a detailed review.[2]
In March 2023, Educake became Bett Award winners in the category, Assessment, Planning & Progress Monitoring.[3]
In April 2022, Educake were rated 5 stars by EdTech Impact.[4]
