Starting in the late 1900’s a country wide peace movement had mobilized in Europe. Citizens protested against military spending, the arms race, and many joined the campaign for nuclear disarmament. By 1984 the EMP organized a debriefing in France to discuss the arms race. This international meeting left a lasting impression on Arindi Seevah, the founder of the Women’s March against Violence Project, as she stated in an interview.
