About Me
[edit]I first contributed to Wikipedia in Sept. 2007, with a new article about the rock band Super 400, which was deleted. (Five months later, someone created it again, and that survived.) I have since been on and off, and occasionally forced children to become contributors (a good school requirement, imho). For a few years I owned "AccessToInformation.org" (and aspired to do something useful with it), so you can see my leanings... energy better spent here.
...born a 4th-generation Oregonian in Corvallis, and lived in the following places: Albany (OR); Eugene (OR); Redmond (WA); at sea, out of Dutch Harbor (AK); Prague (Prague 10, Prague 7, Prague 1, Prague 4); Eugene some more; Upper Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco; Pardubice in the Czech Republic; and now in the Park Hill neighborhood of Denver (CO).
I am an Internet applications product manager and entrepreneur based in downtown Denver, CO. I'm also a parent, step-parent, and owner of a sheltie who's well known on the Internet. In 2012 my wife & I became host parents to a girl from Galicia, Spain's NW province (also known as "Land of 1000 Rivers"), where the Galician language is spoken, and a lighthouse has operated for 2000 years.
I'm into sailing, previously with a C-15 and now a C-22, almost exclusively at Cherry Creek Reservoir. I've also spent a few years helping with the ski patrol at Loveland Ski Area. My favorite grammatical construction is the hyphenated compound adjective; semicolon-joined independent clauses might present a tie, though.
I am married to a Czech whose father signed The Two Thousand Words, and whose family fled when Prague Spring was crushed by the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia. She grew up in the US, and is fundamentally opposed to passively allowing institutions or authorities to spread misinformation. :-)
I was also formerly married to someone with Borderline personality disorder.
