History
[edit]Hodges Bay sits on a site of the former White Sands Hotel which operated for nearly fifty years on the location. The property was purchased in the 1980s by American Hedge Fund executive John Meriwether. A group of local and British developers combined the property in 2006 along with a number of other parcels to begin construction of what was to be called the Hodges Bay Club.
The property had funding issues and construction was halted in November 2008.
In June 2012, the unfinished development was purchased by tech entrepreneur Jeff Wellemeyer and investor and pro-sports owner Christopher Harding.
