Jerry Battiste (born February 7, 1969) is a writer and photographer living in northeastern Indiana. He is the author of two books: "The ABC's of Social Media Management" a non-fiction book of helpful tips for social media management and a collection of short stories called "8 Lucky."

He has worked as a journalist at several Indiana newspapers including the Greensburg Daily News (Greensburg, Indiana), The Republic (Columbus,Indiana) [1] [2], Hendricks County Flyer (Avon, Indiana) [3]. He most recently worked as Online Community Manager at The Bluffton News-Banner [4] (Bluffton, Indiana) [5] where he created an entire social media network which more than doubled the newspaper's reach online. He built and managed multiple daily blogs, a Twitter account, two Facebook pages and a YouTube account. He also worked with Publisher Mark Miller to redesign the existing News-Banner web site.

Battiste also worked on the short lived publication The Muncie Option, published by The Herald Bulletin (Anderson, Indiana) in 1996-1997. This was a free weekly publication created by The Herald Bulletin and delivered to homes in the Muncie, Indiana area. It was meant as a competitor of The Star Press (Muncie, Indiana.)

His work has also appeared in Associated Press articles throughout the United States[6] [7]

Battiste currently maintains an active Twitter account (@JerryBattiste) where he posts about his work as a journalist and his current fiction work.
