[edit]- David Guetta and Rihanna spent a second consecutive week at #1 with their single, "Who's That Chick?". The song is Guetta's first #1 hit on the chart and Rihanna's eleventh chart topper overall. Alexis Jordan was once again held off the top spot but spent a second week at #2 with her song "Happiness". The Script's song "For The First Time" received a new certification of 3x Platinum along with the songs "Raise Your Glass" and "We R Who We R" by P!nk and Ke$ha, which were certified 2x Platinum.
- Enrique Iglesias and Ludacris replaced Guetta at the top spot with their single, "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)". The song is Iglesias' first chart topper since "Not In Love" in 2004 and Ludacris' first chart topper overall. Justice Crew earned their first chart entry when their song, "Friday to Sunday" made a strong debut at #2. Pussycat Dolls front woman Nicole Scherzinger earned her third top ten hit when her song "Poison" debuted at #7 on the singles chart.
- Justice Crew earned their first chart topper when "Friday to Sunday" ascended to #1, knocking off Enrique Iglesias and Ludacris' song, "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" to #2. Nicole Scherzinger scored her second top 5 hit when her song, "Poison" ascended to a new peak of #4. There were four new entries this week: Katy Perry debuted at #5 with "E.T.", Cheryl Cole debuted at #6 with "Promise This", Avril Lavigne debuted at #9 with "What The Hell?" and The Script debuted at #10 with their song, "Nothing".
- Rihanna scored her tenth #1 hit on the singles chart as a solo artist and twelfth overall when her song, "S&M" debuted at #1. "S&M" is the third consecutive single from her album Loud to peak within the top 2 after "Only Girl (In The World)" peaked at #1 and "What's My Name" peaked at #2. Katy Perry scored her fourth top 5 hit from Teenage Dream after her song "E.T." peaked at #4. Avril Lavigne's "What The Hell?" ascended into the top 3 to #3 and Cheryl Cole earned her first top 5 hit on the chart as "Promise This" reached #5.
February
[edit]- Rihanna became the first artist in 2011 to spend more than a week at #1 on the singles chart, as her song "S&M" spent a second week at #1. Nicole Scherzinger's song "Poison" ascended to a new peak of #2 tying it with her previous song, "Baby Love" as her highest charting single. Cheryl Cole scored her first top 3 hit on the chart when "Promise This" ascended to a new peak of #3. Katy Perry spent a second week at #4 with "E.T." whilst Avril Lavigne's "What The Hell?" plummeted to #10. Taio Cruz earned his highest charting single to date when his song "Higher" (which features Kylie Minogue) debuted at #13, two places higher than the peak achieved by his hit "Dynamite".
- Rihanna's reign at the top continued as "S&M" equaled the run achieved by another one of Rihanna's songs ("Only Girl (In The World)". The Script scored their second top 5 hit in a row and third overall when "Nothing" peaked at #5. Far East Movement debuted at #11 with their song "Rocketeer", and thus surpassed the peak of their previous hit "Like A G6".
- Rihanna spent a fourth consecutive week at #1 with "S&M" whilst Avril Lavigne's song "What The Hell?" ascended to a new peak of #2 and Far East Movement scored their first top 5 hit as "Rocketeer" rocketed to #5. Kanye West entered the chart at #6 with his song "All of The Lights". Taio Cruz and Britney Spears also ascended on the chart as "Higher" reached #11 and "Hold It Against Me" reached #13.
- Nicole Scherzinger scored her first #1 hit as a solo artist when "Poison" ascended to the top of the chart. Scherzinger had previously had nine #1 hits as a member of the Pussycat Dolls. Scherzinger's rise to the top ended a four week run at #1 by Rihanna's song "S&M" which descended to #4. Avril Lavigne spent a second consecutive week at #2 with her song "What The Hell?". Far East Movement scored their first top 3 hit as "Rocketeer" rose to a new peak of #3. Kanye West scored his third top 5 hit on the chart when "All of The Lights" peaked at #5. Taio Cruz earned his first top ten hit as "Higher" rose to #8 and "Hold It Against Me" by Britney Spears also continued to climb, reaching #12.
March
[edit]- Nicole Scherzinger spent a second week at #1 with "Poison" whilst Avril Lavigne spent a third consecutive week at #2 with "What The Hell?" Jessie J made her debut on the chart as her song "Price Tag" debuted at #3 on the singles chart. Taio Cruz scored his first top 5 hit on the chart as "Higher" rose to #4. David Guetta and Rihanna's hit single "Who's That Chick?" rose four places back up to #6, whilst Kanye West's single "All of The Lights" dropped ten places to #15. Jennifer Lopez debuted at #14 on the singles chart with her new song "On The Floor" whilst Bruno Mars earned his third top 20 hit in a row as "The Lazy Song" made its debut at #17.
- Nicole Scherzinger spent a third consecutive week at the top with "Poison" whilst Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull rose twelve places to a new peak of #2 with "On The Floor". Jessie J and B.o.B remained at #3 with "Price Tag". Brian McFadden debuted at #11 on the singles chart with his new single, "Just The Way You Are". Lupe Fiasco also entered the chart at #12 with his song "The Show Goes On".
- Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull ascended to the top of the chart with their single, "On The Floor" whilst last week's #1, "Poison" by Nicole Scherzinger slid to #3 on the singles chart. Jessie J and B.o.B rose to #2 with "Price Tag" and Lady Gaga ascended to a new peak of #4 with "Born This Way". Britney Spears climbed a massive 13 spots to a new peak of #6 with "Hold It Against Me".
- Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull spent a second consecutive week at #1 with "On The Floor" whilst Jessie J and B.o.B spent a second consecutive week at #2 with "Price Tag". Lady Gaga ascended to a new peak of #3 with "Born This Way" and Brian McFadden earned his first top 5 hit since his 2005 song "Almost Here" as "Just The Way You Are (Drunk At The Bar)" reached #4 this week. Britney Spears continued her rise on the chart as "Hold It Against Me" reached a new peak of #5. Rihanna returned to the top ten at #8 with former #1 hit "S&M". New entries on the chart this week include "Blow" by Ke$ha which debuted at #11, "'What Happened to Us?" by Jessica Mauboy and Jay Sean which debuted at #12 and "More" by "Usher" which debuted at #16. The Black Eyed Peas re-entered the chart with their song "Just Can't Get Enough" which reached a new peak of #17.
- Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull spent a third consecutive week at #1 with "On The Floor" whilst Jessie J and B.o.B spent a third consecutive week at #2 with "Price Tag". Jessica Mauboy and Jay Sean rocketed up the chart to a new peak of #5 with their song, "What Happened To Us?". Ke$ha entered the top ten as "Blow" ascended to #10 and the Black Eyed Peas ascended to a new peak of #12 with "Just Can't Get Enough".
April
[edit]- The top 2 remained unchanged with "On The Floor" by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull spending its fourth consecutive week at #1 and "Price Tag" by Jessie J and B.o.B spending its fourth consecutive week at #2. Jessica Mauboy scored her highest charting single since "Let Me Be Me" in 2009 when "What Happened To Us?" rose to a new peak of #3. Jay Sean and Lil Wayne spent a second week at #4 with "Hit The Lights", and Ke$ha rose to a new peak of #6 with "Blow". New entries for this week include "Rescue Me" by You Me At Six and Chiddy Bang which debuted at #7 and "Coming Home" by Diddy - Dirty Money and Skylar Grey which debuted at #9.
- Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull spent a fifth consecutive week at #1 with "On The Floor", making their song the longest running #1 hit since the charts were re-introduced in August 2010. "On The Floor" also went Platinum during this week. Jessica Mauboy and Jay Sean ascended to a new peak of #2 with "What Happened To Us?", dethroning Jessie J and B.o.B from the #2 position which they had held for the last four weeks with "Price Tag". "Price Tag" was also certified Platinum this week. Ke$ha scored her third top 3 hit on the chart as "Blow" ascended to a new peak of #3 and was certified Gold. You Me At Six and Chiddy Bang ascended to #5 with "Rescue Me" and Diddy - Dirty Money and Skylar Grey ascended to a new peak of #6 with "Coming Home".
- This week, there was a lot of movement in the charts, with many songs descending down the chart. There were four new entries this week and one re-entry. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull spent a sixth successive week at #1 with "On The Floor". Nicole Scherzinger entered the chart at #2 with her new song "Don't Hold You're Breath" and Tinie Tempah and Kelly Rowland debuted at #3 with their song, "Invincible". Rihanna earned her fourth consecutive top ten hit from her album Loud when her new song, "California King Bed" debuted at #7. Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith entered the chart at #13 with their collaboration, "Never Say Never" and Katy Perry re-entered the chart at #14 with "E.T.". Guy Sebastian's song, "Who's That Girl" received a new certification of 3x Platinum for earning more than 1,800 points.
- Nicole Scherzinger scored her second consecutive #1 hit as "Don't Hold Your Breath" moved up one position to the top of the main singles chart. Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith soared to a new peak of #2 with "Never Say Never" whilst Tinie Tempah and Kelly Rowland remained at #3 with "Invincible". Rihanna scored her fourth top 5 hit from Loud as "California King Bed" ascended to a new peak of #4 on the singles chart and #1 on the Airplay chart. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull dropped four places to #5 with "On The Floor" after a six week run at #1. Katy Perry continued on her resurgence as "E.T." moved back up to #12. New entries this week include Flo Rida and Akon with "Who Dat Girl?" at #18 and Lady Gaga with "Judas" at #19.
May
[edit]- Nicole Scherzinger spent a second consecutive week at #1 with "Don't Hold Your Breath". Marvin Priest debuted at #2 with his song, "Own This Club" and Britney Spears scored her first top 3 hit since "If U Seek Amy" when her new song, "Till The World Ends" debuted at #3. Beyonce debuted at #12 with her new song, "Run The World (Girls)". Rihanna's "S&M" re-entered the top ten ascending to #9 with some help from its remix featuring Britney Spears. Katy Perry continued on her resurgence on the singles chart as "E.T." climbed back up to #11.
- Marvin Priest scored his first #1 hit as "Own This Club" reached #1 on the singles chart. Lady Gaga ascended to #2 with "Judas" whilst Nicole Scherzinger descended to #3 with "Don't Hold You're Breath". Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull returned to #4 with "On The Floor" and Flo Rida reached the top ten with "Who Dat Girl?".
- Rihanna scored her third #1 hit from her album Loud and her tenth #1 hit as a solo artist (twelfth overall when collaborations are included) when "California King Bed" soared from #5 to #1 on the singles chart. i SQUARE debuted at #2 with "Hey Sexy Lady", and Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull returned to the top 3 as "On The Floor" ascended to #3. Flo Rida and Akon soared to #4 with "Who Dat Girl", making it Flo Rida's third highest charting song behind "Low" (#2 in 2008) and "Club Can't Handle Me" (#1 in 2010). Marvin Priest plummeted from the top to #9 with "Own This Club". Justice Crew debuted at #12 with "Dance With Me" a collaboration with Flo Rida and Jessie J debuted at #13 with her new song, "Nobody's Perfect".
- Katy Perry scored her third #1 hit as a solo artist when "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" debuted at #1 on the singles chart. iSQAURE spent a second consecutive week at #2 with "Hey Sexy Lady" whilst Rihanna descended from the top spot to #3 with "California King Bed". New entries on the chart include "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" by the Glee Cast which debuted at #6 and "We Run The Night" by DJ Havana Brown which debuted at #8.
June
[edit]- Katy Perry spent a second consecutive week at #1 with "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)". iSQUARE maintained the #2 position for the third successive week with "Hey Sexy Lady" whilst Nicole Scherzinger returned to the top 3 as "Don't Hold Your Breath" ascended back up to #3. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull remained at #4 with "On The Floor" whilst "California King Bed" by Rihanna slid to #5. New entries this week include "Misery" by Maroon 5 (which charted almost a year after it was released), "Give Me Everything" by Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer which debuted at #12 and "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO which entered at #21. "Coming Home" by Diddy-Dirty Money and Skylar Grey and "What Happened To Us?" by Jessica Mauboy and Jay Sean re-entered the chart at #23 and #24 respectively, after the chart's number of positions was increased from 20 to 25.
- Katy Perry spent a third consecutive week at #1 with "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)", making it her longest chart topper ("Hot N Cold" spent a week at #1 and "Teenage Dream" spent two weeks at #1). Nicole Scherzinger continued on her resurgence as "Don't Hold You're Breath" ascended to #2 whilst Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer ascended to #3 with "Give Me Everything". Maroon 5 ascended into the top 5 peaking at #4 with "Misery" whilst Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull remained at #5 with "On The Floor". "Hey Sexy Lady" by iSQUARE slipped from #2 to #6. New entries this week included "Loud" by Stan Walker which debuted at #22 and "Where Them Girls At?" by David Guetta featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj, which debuted at #25.

Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer ascended to #2 with "Give Me Everything" whilst last week's #1, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" by Katy Perry dropped to #3. Justice Crew and Flo Rida reached a new peak of #4 with their single, "Dance with Me" whilst Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull and iSQAURE remained at #5 and #6 with "On The Floor" and "Hey Sexy Lady" and Avril Lavigne ascended to a new peak of #8 with "Smile". New entries this week included "Friday" by the Glee Cast which debuted at #7, "Don't Wanna Go Home" by Jason Derulo (#11), "The Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga (#14), "Best Thing I Never Had" by Beyonce (#21) and "We Love" by Sneaky Sound System (#22).

Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull ascended to #4 once again with "On The Floor" whilst Avril Lavigne achieved a new peak of #5 with "Smile". The Glee Cast reached a new peak of #6 with "Friday", Jason Derulo moved up one spot to #10 with "Don't Wanna Go Home" and David Guetta, Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj all soared to #11 with "Where Them Girls At". Also, during this week, Justice Crew became the first artist in the history of the chart to surpass the 2,000 mark in points.

Katy Perry re-ascended to #2 with "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" whilst Nicki Minaj soared from #22 to #3 with her song "Super Bass". Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull remained at #4 with "On The Floor", whilst Nicole Scherzinger dropped four places from the top to #5 this week with "Don't Hold You're Breath". Jason Derulo reached a new peak of #8 with "Don't Wanna Go Home" whilst David Guetta, Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj ascended to #9 with "Where Them Girls At". New entries this week include "I Wanna Go" by Britney Spears (#10) and "Marry You" by Bruno Mars (#11).

Bad Meets Evil scored their first top ten hit as their song "Lights" featuring Bruno Mars reached a new peak of #10. New entires this week include "Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera (#5) and "Right There" by Nicole Scherzinger and 50 cent (#21).
- Selena Gomez & The Scene remained at #1 with "Who Says?" whilst Bad Meets Evil and Bruno Mars sky rocketed to #2 with "Lighters". Lady Gaga soared to #3 with "The Edge of Glory", making it her third consecutive top 3 hit from Born This Way. Beyonce finally cracked the top ten with "The Best Thing I Never Had" as it climbed to a new peak of #7, surpassing the peak of its predecessor, "Run The World (Girls)". Jason Derulo recovered from #17 to #11 this week with "Don't Wanna Go Home", The Black Eyed Peas reached a new peak of #18 with "Don't Stop The Party" and Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent moved up one spot to a new peak of #20 with "Right There". The only new entry this week was "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri which debuted at #21.
- Maroon 5 scored their second #1 hit on the chart (their first since 2004's "This Love") as their song "Moves Like Jagger" featuring Christina Aguilera ascended from #5 to #1. Bad Meets Evil and Bruno Mars remained at #2 with "Lighters" and Nicole Scherzinger scored her third consecutive top 3 hit as "Right There" featuring 50 cent ascended to a new peak of #3. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull spent a twentieth consecutive week in the top ten as "On The Floor" remained at #4, and last week's #1, "Who Says?" by Selena Gomez and the Scene descended to #5. Jason Derulo ascended to a new peak of #6 with "Don't Wanna Go Home" and Christina Perri soared to #14 with "Jar of Hearts". Jessica Mauboy debuted at #21 with "Inescapable" and Pitbull and Marc Anthony debuted at #25 with "Rain Over Me".

Nicole Scherzinger scored her third consecutive top 2 hit as her song, "Right There" featuring 50 Cent ascended to a new peak of #2, knocking last week's #2, "Lighters" by Bad Meets Evil and Bruno Mars to #3. Christina Perri soared to #4 with "Jar of Hearts" whilst Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull remained in the top 5 for an astonishing twenty-second consecutive week with "On The Floor" at #5. Jessica Mauboy rose to a new peak of #17 with "Inescapable" whilst Pitbull and Marc Anthony entered the top twenty at #19 with "Rain Over Me". New entries this week include "I'm Into You" by Jennifer Lopez featuring Lil Wayne (#18) and "Switch Me On" by Shannon Noll (#23).

Shannon Noll soared from #23 to #7 with "Switch Me On" and Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne reached a new peak of #12 with "I'm Into You". Other new entries this week were "Cheers (Drink To That)" by Rihanna (#5), "The Story of Us" by Taylor Swift (#22) and "Pretty Girls" by Iyaz and Travis McCoy (#24). Also, Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull dropped four places to #9 with "On The Floor", after spending a record, 22 consecutive weeks in the top 5.
- Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera spent a fourth consecutive week at #1 with "Moves Like Jagger" whilst Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent spent a third straight week at #2 with "Right There". Jessica Mauboy scored her second consecutive top 3 hit as "Inescapable (OFM Mix)" reached a new peak of #3, swapping places with "Just A Kiss" by Lady Antebellum which dropped to #4. Bad Meets Evil and Bruno Mars returned to the top 5 at #5 with "Lighters" and Shannon Noll reached a new peak of #6 with "Switch Me On". Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne reached a new peak of #11 with "I'm Into You" and Taylor Swift entered the top twenty at #18 with "The Story of Us". New entries this week were "Next 2 You" by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber (#10), "Love You Like A Love Song" by Selena Gomez & the Scene (#12) and "You and I" by Lady Gaga (#22). Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull's single, "On The Floor" was certified 4x Platinum for earning more than 2,400 points, becoming the first song in the chart's history to achieve this feat. All previous singles which had attained a 4x Platinum certification had only earned 85% of the points required for this certification.
- Nicole Scherzinger and 50 cent finally ascended to #1 with "Right There", after spending three consecutive weeks at #2. Lady Antebellum achieved a new peak of #2 with "Just A Kiss" whilst last week's #1, "Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera descended to #3. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber ascended to a new peak of #4 with "Next 2 You" and Rihanna returned to #5 with "Cheers (Drink To That)". Christina Perri re-bounded from #8 to #6 with "Jar of Hearts" whilst Selena Gomez & the Scene entered the top ten at #9 with "Love You Like A Love Song". The only new entry this week was "It Girl" by Jason Derulo which debuted at #19.
September

Lady Antebellum remained at #2 with "Just A Kiss", Chris Brown and Justin Bieber ascended to a new peak of #3 with "Next 2 You" whilst last week's chart topper, "Right There" by Nicole Scherzinger and 50 cent descended to #4. Rihanna spent a third week at #5 with "Cheers (Drink To That)", Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne reached a new peak of #7 with "I'm Into You" and Jason Derulo ascended into the top ten to #8 with "It Girl". Lady Gaga also reached a new peak of #14 with "You and I".
- Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera spent a sixth week at #1 with "Moves Like Jagger", becoming the longest running #1 hit of 2011 so far (tied with Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull's "On The Floor" which spent a twenty-seventh consecutive week in the top ten this week). Nicole Scherzinger and 50 cent returned to the top 2 with "Right There", rising from #4 to #2 after losing the #1 position to Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera last week. Lady Gaga continued to rise with "You and I", which reached a new peak of #12. New entries this week include, "You Make Me Feel..." by Cobra Starship and Sabi (#3), "Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heroes and Adam Levine (#4) and "Without You" by David Guetta and Usher (#5).
- "Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera became the year's longest running #1 hit by spending a seventh week at the top of the chart. Nicole Scherzinger and 50 cent remained at #2 with "Right There" whilst Gym Class Heroes and Adam Levine reached a new peak of #3 with "Stereo Hearts", making it the group's highest charting single to date and Levine's first top 3 hit on the chart outside of Maroon 5. Jessica Mauboy's "Inescapable" made a return to the top ten, jumping from #13 to #10. New entries this week included "Domino" by Jessie J (#12) and "Before It Explodes" by Charice.

David Guetta and Sia rose to a new peak of #5 with "Titanium", Marvin Priest scored his second top ten hit as "Feel The Love" featuring Fatman Scoop ascended to a new peak of #9 and the New Boyz scored their first top ten hit as "Better With The Lights Off" featuring Chris Brown ascended to #10. Hot Chelle Rae and the New Boyz ascended to a new peak of #13 with "Like It Like That", Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull re-bounded from #19 to #14 with "On The Floor" which spends its 40th week on the chart and Celine Dion reaches a new peak of #15 with "Taking Chances". Adele rose to a new peak of #17 with "Someone Like You" and The Wanted re-bounded 20-18 with "Glad You Came". The only new entry this week was "Feels So Close" by Calvin Harris which debuted at #23.
This week has been the most competitive week of 2011 thus far. One Direction had secured the #1 position throughout the week but there was a three-way battle for the #2 position between Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera, the Glee Cast and Guy Sebastian but ultimately it was the Glee Cast who took the #2 position, only by the slimmest of possible margins however. Songs such as "I Like It Like That", "Taking Chances", "Someone Like You" and "A Thousand Years" would have held higher positions had the week not been so competitive. Also, Katy Perry would not have suffered such a large decrease had the week been less competitive, and it is likely that Calvin Harris would have achieved a higher debut.
- One Direction remained at #1 for the fourth consecutive week with "What Makes You Beautiful", Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera re-bounded 3-2 with "Moves Like Jagger" and Nicole Scherzinger debuted at #3 with her new single, "Try With Me". With this achievement, Scherzinger earned her fifth consecutive top 3 hit from Killer Love and became the first artist in the chart's history to have 3 separate singles chart within the top ten simultaneously. Her other singles in the top ten are "Wet" which re-bounds 6-4 and "Right There" featuring 50 cent which descends 7-9. Adele scored her second top ten hit as "Someone Like You" ascended to a new peak of #7. Other new entries this week include "5 O'Clock" by T-Pain, Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen which debuts at #18 and "Count On Me" by Bruno Mars which debuts at #19. Rihanna re-entered the chart at a new peak of #24 with "You Da One".
- Kina Grannis earned her first #1 hit as "In Your Arms" debuted at #1 on the mainstream singles chart. Nicole Scherzinger moved one step closer to claiming her fifth consecutive #1 hit from Killer Love as "Try With Me" ascends to a new peak of #2. Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera continue their run in the top 5 as they drop to #3 with "Moves Like Jagger". Bruno Mars was among the largest gainers as his latest single, "Count On Me" rises twelve places to a new peak of #7 giving the singer his fourth top ten hit on the chart overall and Celine Dion re-bounds to a new peak of #9 with "Taking Chances". Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull continue their longevity on the chart as "On The Floor" returns to #12 after a massive 42 weeks on the chart thus far. Christina Perri re-entered the chart at #13 with "A Thousand Years" whilst Katy Perry re-bounded from the bottom of the chart to #16 this week with "The One That Got Away" after an increase in airplay which saw it top the airplay chart for the first time. Rihanna reached a new peak of #19 with "You Da One" and "Bridge of Light" by P!nk was the only other new entry this week as it debuted at #22.
- Nicole Scherzinger dominated the week in music by topping five of the six charts and becoming the first artist in the chart's history to occupy the top 3 positions on the mainstream singles chart in a single week, with three separate singles as a lead artist. Scherzinger's latest single, "Try With Me" ascended to a new peak of #1 and was certified Gold, giving Scherzinger her fifth consecutive #1 hit from Killer Love. The achievement also makes Scherzinger the only artist in the chart's history with five separate #1 hits as a lead artist in a single calendar year. Scherzinger's previous single, "Wet" rebounded back into the top 2 rising 5-2, whilst her other single, "Right There" (which features guest vocals by 50 cent) rounds out the top 3 by rising from #8 to #3.
Celine Dion achieved a new peak of #6 with "Taking Chances", whilst Kelly Clarkson, Christina Perri, Katy Perry and the Gym Class Heroes all re-bounded up the chart with their respective singles, "Mr. Know It All" (15-11), "A Thousand Years" (13-12), "The One That Got Away" (16-13) and "Stereo Hearts" (17-14). New entries this week include "She Doesn't Mind" by Sean Paul (#9), "Marry The Night" by Lady Gaga (#22) and "Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)" by Lloyd featuring Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne (#23). Shakira also entered the chart at #15 with "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" which debuts more than a year after its release. Mariah Carey re-entered the chart at #25 with "Oh Santa!".
- Nicole Scherzinger continued to dominate the mainstream singles chart as she occupied the top 3 positions of the chart for the second week in a row. Scherzinger also became the first artist in the history of the chart to replace themselves at #1 as her single, "Wet" replaced her latest single, "Try With Me" at the top spot. "Wet" spends its fourth non-consecutive week at the top of the chart, whilst "Try With Me" descends to #3. Scherzinger's other single, "Right There" (which features 50 Cent) returns to #2 this week. Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera continue their dominant run on the chart as "Moves Like Jagger" spends its twenty-fifth week in the top 5 at #4, and is still yet to drop below the #5 position. Celine Dion ascended to a new peak of #5 with "Taking Chances" as did Christina Perri who reached a new peak of #7 with "A Thousand Years", which also tops the Pop and Pop Songs charts for the first time this week. Shakira and Lloyd also moved up the chart as "Waka Waka (This Time Africa)" reached #12 and "Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)" reached #16. Kelly Clarkson debuted at #19 with her new single, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)".

Singles
- However, certain exceptions are made. If a song has dropped off the chart and has earned points that are at least equal to 85% of 600 (512), it will be certified Platinum despite not earning 600 ranking points. This rule also applies to multi-platinum certifications (e.g., a song which earns at least 1,020 points will be certified 2x Platinum, a song which earns at least 1,530 points will be certified 3x Platinum and so on). As of August 20, 2011, this rule no longer applies for Gold certifications.
Albums
An album's certification is based on the performance of its singles. If a song from the album is certified Gold, then the album itself is also given a Gold certification. If the same song goes Platinum or Multi-Platinum the album receives the same certification as that single. The certifications of all the singles released from the album are added up together to give the album its final certification. If an album produces both Gold and Platinum singles, only the Platinum certified songs can be counted towards an album's certification.
For example: Katy Perry's third studio album Teenage Dream was certified 4x Platinum in 2010, based on the certifications received by its singles:
- "California Girls" (featuring Snoop Dog) - Platinum
- "Teenage Dream" - 2x Platinum
- "Firework" - Platinum
Points System
[edit]A song earns points for each week it remains on the Top 20 Singles Chart. A song also receives bonus points after dropping off the chart. The total number of points earned by a song is used to determine its certification. For privacy reasons, the points system is not revealed.

"On The Floor" by Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull was ranked as the Year-End No. 1 Single for 2011 and also won the Major Music Award for Record of The Year. However, it was American recording artist, Nicole Scherzinger who made the most appearances on the 2011 year-end chart with five entries including "Right There" (#3), "Wet" (#4), "Try With Me" (#6), "Don't Hold Your Breath" (#7) and "Poison" (#22). Scherzinger also claimed the major music awards for Album of The Year and Artist of The Year and was nominated twice in the Record of The Year category.
The Americans, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera ranked 2nd on the year-end chart with their single, "Moves Like Jagger" which was the longest running number-one hit of the year with eight non-consecutive weeks at the top spot and the longest running number-one hit overall since Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" in 2007. Rihanna and Britney Spears secured the fifth place with "S&M/S&M (remix)", the Gym Class Heroes and Adam Levine finished in eighth place with "Stereo Hearts" while Kelly Clarkson and the Glee Cast secured the ninth and tenth spots with their singles, "Mr. Know It All" and "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You".
