Paul Simshauser is Chief Economist and Group Head of Corporate Affairs[1] at AGL, Australia's largest gas and electricity retailer. He also serves as Professor of Economics at Griffith University[2] in Queensland, Australia.
Prior to his role at AGL, Simshauser worked at the Queensland Electricity Commission, Stanwell Corporation, NewGen Power and Babcock & Brown. He has published and is cited widely on a range of topics in energy and economics.[3]
In 2008 he participated in the Australia 2020 Summit, as a member of the working group on population, sustainability, climate change and water.[4]
Simshauser is outspoken on energy economics in the public debate[5] He is a member of CEDA’s Council on Economic Policy,[6] and was a board member on the Clean Energy Council until 2012.[7]
