Mounya Amalou Sayah

Mounya Amalou Sayah is Moroccan golfer who became the first Arab woman to become a professional golfer[1]. She is also recognized as the first Arab woman to serve as a referee in golf. Currently, she serves as the sports director of the Trophée Hassan II association in golf.

Professional Golf Career[2]

Mounya Amalou Sayah turned professional in 1997[3], making her the first Arab woman to achieve this status in golf. In the same year, she became the first Arab woman to join the Ladies European Tour[4], where she has participated in various professional tournaments. Her membership in the Ladies European Tour has contributed to increasing visibility for female golfers from the Arab region.

In addition to her playing career, Mounya Amalou Sayah became the first Arab woman to serve as a referee in professional golf tournaments. Her role as a referee demonstrates her deep understanding of the game and her commitment to maintaining its integrity and standards.
