From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The IP address User:72.39.23.16 has left half a dozen wikipedians essentially the same message -- accusing us of all of "anti-Americanism".

Why are you anti American? It's not right.

Your comments and article edits are biased, and anti American.

Your edits are very anti American. This should not be acceptable.

You are an Anti American who hates Americans / USA. Is that not wrong? If you're trying to get a point across by using Wikipedia, anti Americanism won't help.

Your edits (and your views / opinions in generally) are anti American. Anti Americanism is wrong because it involves the hate of Americans (over 300 million people) and the hate of the United States (a country, it seems stupid to me to hate a country). Anti Americanism is ignorance and I do not think that such ignorance should be allowed or tolerate on Wikipedia which by the way, is an American based website started by an American man who was born and raised in Alabama. I think you need to stop with your anti Americanism and your bias edits. 72.39.23.16 (talk)

I left a reply for this wikipedian, which I suspect they did not read:

Your accusation is (1) incorrect; (2) a breach of the wikipedia's civility policies. If you think you have meaningful specific concerns, you can feel free to leave me a civil specific message.
If you aren't willing to take the time to be specific about your concerns why the heck should I make any effort to respond to those concerns? Not being a mind reader how the heck could I make an effort to consider your concern? Geo Swan (talk) 04:08, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

I am going to invite User:72.39.23.16 to try to be more specific about his or her concerns in future. Geo Swan (talk) 21:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, indeed your edits are anti American, which seems pointless because it's biased and Wikipedia should not be biased. 72.39.23.16 (talk) 23:30, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I think that this is a total waste of time. It's because of users like these that registration on wikipedia should be a mandatory thing for people wanting to edit and make their contributions. Whether someone thinks I am Anti-American, Gay or Facist doesn't really matter to me for two primary reasons: (a) People are free to think what they want to think. (b) Once some people make up their minds about someone and they usually don't change it. Having said all that, I won't be losing any sleep over this anytime soon. Night nite everyone.  Nhl4hamilton | Chit-Chat  03:54, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
  • 72.39.23.16 -- you force me to repeat myself -- you can't ask anyone to take your concerns seriously, if you can't be specific about what triggers them.
