Consistent?

[edit]

Hi! Regarding this, I take your point, and indeed considered it as I was writing that. Two things occur to me: it's (very) unlikely to 'stick'; and it's arguable that a dog bred in England specifically to be an Irish dog has at least some Irishness about it. Anyway, curious to see what develops. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:11, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop reverting for no reason.

[edit]

I have no reason why you keep deleting text that is sourced on the Rhodesian Ridgeback article. The source is Sue Fox, Rhodesian Ridgeback, page 6, "Bloodhounds, staghounds, Greyhounds, Bulldogs, terriers, Mastiffs, Pointers, Foxhounds, and crosses among these breeds lived at military outposts and were scattered throughout the frontier. These dog breeds also contributed to the Boer (Dutch) hunting dogs, which were the forerunner of the Rhodesian Ridgeback." For some unknown reason you keep deleting that information when it's sourced and from that book. If you have any issues then you can ask on the help desk, but don't revert sourced text for no apparent reason. Abdul Akter (talk) 00:36, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jean Cameron of Glendessary, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Allan Ramsay. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading files to Commons

[edit]

When you upload something to Commons, you choose "own" when it's your photo. When you help yourself to public domain content, it's not your "own" work, but you have to state where you found the photo. Please see the edits that I've made to the James Williamson photo for how it's supposed to be done. If you have questions, please ask. Here's good. Schwede66 17:30, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

[edit]
Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
