From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.

I left a note regarding your question about Image:Mikeandmikenewset.jpg. The radio show is now simulcast on TV, which might give someone the ability to make a screenshot. Replaceable fair use Image:Killcheerleaderbandphoto.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Killcheerleaderbandphoto.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 00:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Possibly unfree Image:Syxx.JPG

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Syxx.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 00:26, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Any particular reason for this page move?

Action: moved Sean Williams (Boston College) to Sean Williams (New Jersey Nets)
Rationale: "He now plays for the Nets"

Hi, did you fully think through why you moved "Sean Williams (Boston College)" to "Sean Williams (New Jersey Nets)"?

  • What if Williams is traded or waived by the Nets? Are you going to move the article's page every time he switches teams?
  • What if the Sean Williams (Syracuse) starts playing for the Nets in a couple of years time?

Normally when 2 basketball players of the exact same name are indexed on Wikipedia, their disambiguation link contains the name fo the college they played for (see Dee Brown (basketball) and Marcus Williams (basketball)). Please try to rectify this by moving it back. It was all fine before it was moved. Thanks. --124.168.103.185 (talk) 10:01, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

ArbCom questions

Hi. I'm Ral315, editor of the Wikipedia Signpost. We're interviewing all ArbCom candidates for an article next week, and your response is requested.

  1. What positions do you hold (adminship, arbitration, mediation, etc.)?
  2. Why are you running for the Arbitration Committee?
  3. Have you been involved in any arbitration cases? In what capacity?
  4. In the past year, are there any cases that you think the Arbitration Committee handled exceptionally well? Any you think they handled poorly?
  5. Why do you think users should vote for you?

Please respond on my talk page. We'll probably go to press late Monday or early Tuesday (UTC), but late responses will be added as they're submitted. Thanks, Ral315 » 04:46, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Better source request for Image:2sweetnwo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:2sweetnwo.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. OsamaK (talk) 05:50, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello! As we did for last year's election, we are again compiling a Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2007/Summary table. This table contains a column "Portfolio" for links that display candidates' pertinent skills. I will be going through each candidate's statements and gradually populate the column, but this may take some time. Please feel free to add some links in the form [link|c] if you feel it shows conflict resolution skills, or [link|o] otherwise. It would also be helpful if you can check if the information about you is correct.

My motivation is that as a voter, I don't want to just rely on a candidate's words, but also see their actions. Moreover, I believe a portfolio of "model cases" to remember in difficult situations can be useful for each candidate, as well. I believe that conflict resolution skills are most pertinent to the position, but if you want to highlight other skills, please feel free to use a new letter and add it to Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2007/Summary table#Columns of this table. — Sebastian 05:43, 28 November 2007 (UTC)    (I stopped watching this page. If you would like to continue the talk, please do so here and ping me.)

I reverted your edit...

I don't disagree with the change you made to fighting game, but the image needs a fair use rationale for use in the article, which the current screenshot does have. Add one and I won't revert it (though it would be nice if you moved the KOFXI shot further down or put it in a gallery, which would probably make more sense). Thanks for contributing. -MissingNOOO 21:39, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I may be a big SNK fan, but frankly SFIII2i is my favorite SFIII anyway, and KOFXI (IMHO) is the worst KOF to date :) -MissingNOOO 21:50, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

What was that?

Hey, could you check your recent edit for Doug? I had to revert it because it look like it just mangled some references, but I know you were trying to do something constructive so I wanted to let you know. Thanks-- Torc2 (talk) 20:57, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Um, yeah.

As a lowly editor (not admin, not bur., not anything really), I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed your Arbcom nomination. Thanks for keepin it real. On another note, as a Vikes fan, all I really want to say is Nah na na na NAH NAH. . Cheers, and good luck to you. Keeper | 76 22:58, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

What, he completed 3 touchdown passes. Oh, yeah, wait. Those were to the worst pass defense in the league. Just further proof nepatism is really crapitism. That being said, the Vikes would take him in trade any day for the crap we've got under center. Without Eli's help, we'd a lost by a New York Mile...Cheers! Keeper | 76 15:27, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I like Pennington. Of course, there are also some high school star athletes that would do a better job than these three yahoos. It doesn't matter really who the vikes hand the ball to (besides Adrian Peterson, who is likeable, yet so very likely doomed to a lopsided trade if the vikes history is at all telling of the vikes future). The vikes find a way to lose, regardless of talent. It's why more and more MN natives are donning the green and yellow. Keeper | 76 15:59, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
