Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Haris Boko (born 13 August 1960) is a Croatian academic, business consultant, and politician. He currently serves as the President of EUbusiness., a global think-tank.

Early Life

Haris Boko was born in Zagreb, Croatia, to Zehra Cemalovic and Frane Boko. His mother, a neurologist and psychiatrist, was educated in Manchester and London, UK, and specialized in child neurology. His father is a lawyer who served as the CEO of the national pension insurance.

Education

Boko attended a gymnasium focused on data science and mathematics before enrolling at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where he received his B.Sc. in 1984, majoring in industrial electronics and microprocessor architecture. During his undergraduate years, he was an active student representative and contributed to alternative periodicals and radio.

He completed his postgraduate studies in biomedical engineering in 1987, with a thesis on cost-benefit examinations in medical imaging, and served as the President of the foreign student association, which included around 3,000 students from eighty countries.

In 1989, Boko earned his Ph.D. with a thesis on speech recognition

Career

Dr. Boko is the current President of EUbusiness, a think-tank focused on enhancing the competitiveness of the European Union through the promotion of cutting-edge technology, advanced financial instruments, and human capability development.

He received managerial training from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and was a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he focused on the implications of emerging markets on global development.

Boko has worked in over 60 countries, specializing in business development, strategic planning, restructuring, due diligence, initial public offerings, valuation, privatization, and transactions, with a primary focus on the energy and healthcare sectors. He has held assignments in cities such as San Francisco, Montreal, Vienna, Tokyo, and London.

As Dean of the AMBA-accredited Cotrugli Business School, Boko was responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, curriculum development, staff management, and research supervision. He also led growth campaigns and corporate in-house training programs, ensuring the highest standards of public service and education. He teaches strategic management, with a focus on communication, emotional intelligence, and negotiation skills.

Personal Life

Boko has been deeply involved in Croatian politics and played a significant role in the country's accession to NATO and the European Union. He joined the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), the first democratic party established in the former Yugoslavia, where he chaired the foreign relations committee and represented the party in the Liberal International and other European and international bodies. He has participated in numerous political campaigns and governance, both in opposition and the governing majority.

In government, Dr. Boko oversaw national developmental projects and contributed to various European Commission bodies. He has been a keynote speaker and chair at international conferences organized by global think-tanks, including the Trilateral Commission, Davos World Summit, German Marshall Fund, Economist Intelligence Unit, Wilton Park, Chatham House, Cleveland Club, and Atlantic Council. He moderated the Aspen Institute's Executive Seminar on leadership, values, and the good society.

Haris was a competitive tennis player and remains devoted to offshore sailing.

Dr. Boko is an honorary citizen of New Orleans, USA, and has received an honorary medal from the City of Kyoto, Japan.
