History
[edit]Formation and El Barco
[edit]Before forming Grupo Firme, lead singer Eduin Caz expressed fascination towards a music career and corridos, contrary to his mother's discourgement, listening to a record with both Los Tigres del Norte and Los Tucanes de Tijuana on it. He later moved out of his house at age 16 and began playing street gigs with friends.[1] Once Caz had enough money, Grupo Firme was formed in 2013 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico under the name of "Grupo Fuerza", after which they began performing as an indie project at local parties and carne asada cookouts; they then received attraction on social media and eventually changed their name to Grupo Firme in 2014.[2] After a gig at a popular nightclub, Caz met Isael Gutiérrez, manager of Music VIP Entertainment, and he later signed onto the record label.[1]
