From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 43 BC Aulus Hirtius was consul of the Roman Republic, with Gaius Vibius Pansa Caetronianus. The senate had decided to wage war against Mark Antony, who was besieging governor Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus of Cisalpine Gaul in Mutina. Hirtius died at the Battle of Mutina, while fighting Antony. In the meanwhile, Publius Cornelius Dolabella had murdered Gaius Trebonius, the proconsul of Asia.
