Dr. Ben Davis has a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics and his M.S. in Nuclear Astrophysics, both degrees are from the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, In). Originally from Memphis, Tn., “Dr. Ben” now works as a professor at ECPI University in Greenville, SC where he teaches physics and engineering after retiring as a professional engineer and software developer. He attends regional conventions and is a self-described "science evangelist" and skeptic of the paranormal. He is a regular at ConCarolinas, DragonCon, RavenCon and LibertyCon. He was the Science Guest of Honor at LibertyCon in 2016.
"Dr. Ben" is most recently known for his Science of Explosives presentation, where he detonates small explosive charges in a steel-reinforced Lexan chamber. As a known skeptic, he also has a standing offer to investigate and document any paranormal activity in the U.S. Carolina Piedmont area. He's been on several "ghost hunts" and famously claims to have found nothing out of the ordinary.
