Yup, would be glad to help out - I have for some years now contributed to/begun loads of articles relating to the county, especially villages/parishes and the like. A Geography of Shropshire article would be a good one to focus on when the project is up and running. As for towns to concentrate on - the only additions to your list would be, in my opinion, Whitchurch and Newport. Interestingly, myself, a friend and another contributer have created quite an in-depth Geology of Shropshire article. The existing History of Shropshire article needs sorting out. Finally, more needs to be done in preparation for the creation of the new unitary authority "Shropshire Council" which will come into effect next April. Dpaajones
Well you are probably the one who's contributed the most to Shropshire articles :)! The couple of examples you've pointed out are only a small portion of what needs doing, and I think this project should be started if only to help focus and organise the improvement of Shropshire-related articles. I've recently improved the Shrewsbury article significantly, to the point where I've nominated it for GA status (I'm still awaiting the outcome!). I'm also interested in providing maps etc for any articles which are lacking visually. Anyway, Thanks for your input! I hope some others come forward aswell. Might be worth posting a notice about this proposal at WT:UKGEO and WP:ENGLAND. I think this would bring more interested parties together. Failing that, it might be worth "uniting" with another county (even if just for a few months - a year), eg. a "Shropshire and Staffordshire" project??
