Future F1 Seasons

The 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship is a planned motor racing championship for Formula One cars which will be the 74th running of the Formula One World Championship.

F1 Entries

The following constructors and drivers are under contract to compete in the 2023 World Championship.[1] All teams are due to compete with tyres supplied by Pirelli.[2] Each team is due to be required to enter at least two drivers, one for each of the two mandatory cars.

Driver changes

Fernando Alonso (left) is due to drive for Aston Martin in place of the retiring Sebastian Vettel (right).

Sebastian Vettel is due to retire at the end of the 2022 championship, ending his Formula One career after 15 seasons.[23] His place at Aston Martin is due to be taken by Fernando Alonso, who will leave Alpine after two seasons.[10] His replacement was announced as the 2021 Formula 2 Champion and reserve driver Oscar Piastri, who would have been due to make his Formula One debut.[8] Shortly after this announcement, Piastri stated that he had not signed a contract for 2023 and that he would not be driving for Alpine.[9]

Daniel Ricciardo is due to leave McLaren after two seasons. He had a contract to drive for the team in 2023, but it was terminated during the 2022 championship by mutual agreement.[24]

  • For the first time since 2007, Losail in Qatar will not host the opening round due to "extensive renovation and remodelling to the paddock area and circuit facilities".[71]
