Word Association!

Hello everyone,

My name is Alexander1257 and I've decided to create a word association game similar to the one hosted by the Department of Fun, but better!

If you don't know how to play, go here and read the rules of the DoF version before playing here. Simply put, the game involves adding a single word to the list that is related to the previous one.

The Process

• 1. Click on "Edit" at the top of the page.
• 2. Add one word to the main game, branch, sub-branch, and/or double sub-branch section.
• 3. Enclose it in brackets (this creates a link).
• 4. Update the word count
• 5. Save the page.
• 6. If your word is the 10th word, 20th, 30th, etc. please also add every ten words to show it is the next tenth word e.g. , etc.
• 7. (optional) Add your name to the "Players" list.

An Example

By way of example, a game might start off with: "cat". Then, the next person might add "dog". After a few more rounds, we might get "cat, dog, pet, animal, forest, tree, house, boat,".

The Rules:

• The 1ST MAIN GAME will contain a total of 400 words.
• A total of 10 words can be made into branches. Unlike the DoF game, it does not matter where the branches are located in the main game. The 2nd word, the 17th, and the 132nd could all be made into branches.
• Branches must contain anywhere between 20 and 150 words.
• A total of two words per branch may be made into sub-branches.
• Sub-branches must contain anywhere between 10 and 75 words.
• A total of one word per sub-branch may be made into a double sub-branch.
• Double sub-branches must contain anywhere between 5 and 40 words.
• Please, no offensive or vulgar words.
• Only add ONE WORD per section. If you want to add a word to both the main game and a branch, only add ONE WORD to each.
• Vandalism will be strictly enforced and I will report any user who deliberately vandalizes and/or improperly edits this page.
• That said, this game isn't just a heap of rules. It's supposed to be fun!

Repeated Words

Avoid repeating words, and keep the links tasteful! Please use only blue links when associating. Piped links are acceptable in certain circumstances, such as when a word may have many ambiguities, like [[Queen (band)|Queen]]. Clearly, as the game develops, one gets a pretty long list! If you're stuck for ideas, link to the last word in the list and add the first link that appears on that page as the next link. Thus "Sebastian Junger" would be followed by "Documentary film", and "Latin" by "Italic languages".

In the spirit of the game, please type only one word consecutively. Then another person can respond to your word, and the game continues!
