[edit]

I am a Graduate of Archaeological science with a BSc Honors Degree from the University of Liverpool. I also hold a Masters Degree (MSc) in Archaeological Materials from the University of Nottingham. I have particular interests in minimally-destructive and non-destructive analytical spectroscopy, microscopy and microanalysis. I have specific interests in the techniques of scanning electron microscopy, x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy.

I also have an interest in lasers, radio communications, personal computers and firearms. I hold a United Kingdom Section 1 Firearm Certificate (FAC) and have over eighteen years of firearms experience. I am a qualified and practicing NRA (UK) Range Conducting Officer (RCO), and I handload all of my own ammunition.

I have worked with personal computers for over fifteen years, and as a result I have extensive knowledge of both PC hardware and software, as well as peripheral devices. I am a proponent of FOSS and run Linux on all of my home PCs, with my primary computer running Ubuntu

I am currently employed as the senior material scientist for a growing international company that conducts predictive maintenance and forensic failure analysis.
